DIGI NEWS: Super Robots Wars OG Saga: Masou Kishin 3, Super Robots Wars Operation Extend

It's been a while since we have Digi News and we have two Super Robots Wars related games coming out!

First off, it is the entirely new sequel of the Masou Kishin saga after the previous installment in the PSP. Masaki and his friends now travel around the land of La-Gias as they battle new enemies and meet new allies. With the new graphic they used for SRW OG2, the game will be released in PS3 and PS Vita. Coming out this August 22! The limited edition will include a HD version of the first Super Robot War OG anime and a free DLC of Valsione to be used in the game!

Next is the first DLC Super Robots War game and it will be spilt into 8 parts. The first chapter will be released this Summer and it will be one of the largest rosters yet. New entries like Patlabor, Keroro Gusou, Zoids Series and the only made for promo series-Daitenoh will team up with favourites like Gundam series, Macross, L-Gaim, Code Geass. However there will more entries for the next installments as it goes.

DIGI NEWS: Ultraman All Stars Chronicle on PSP

After having Ultraman Fighting Evolution Zero in the PSP for more than five years, we are finally getting a Ultraman Stand alone game and it is an RPG stragety game!

The game will have every Ultraman Characters (Expect Jonais, Powered and Great) in an original story where all of their enemies have gathered to take all the Ultras and it is up to our heroes to fight back and regain their power.

It will be out on March 7th 2013 on PSP (I wish it will be on Vita so that we can take advantage of it's graphics)

DIGI NEWS: Saint Seiya Omega coming on PSP on 29/11/12

With the Tokyo Game Show 2012 going on now, we have many new titles coming out for the next four months and next year.

So with Saint Seiya Omega passing the 25 episode mark, what better way to have more fun with a new PSP video game!

The game will have the cast of the Omega series and Seiya in his Gold Saint Form will be in it too. It will have an original story facing a former enemy-Poseidon of the Sea which is interesting because Poseidon was sealed in Athena's amphora and now he is back with a vengeance.

Since Seiya is in it, will we see the rest of the Legend Saints? The game will be out on 29 November 2012 and the first print will include an illustration book with all the characters in the game.

DIGI NEWS: Third PV of Super Robot Wars OG2 and Idolmaster Shining Festa PSP game PV

We got another promo video of the upcoming Super Robot Wars OG2 with more scenes of our favourite characters and new enemies which seem to be another revival of DC, another alien race and the Choujin enemies.

Looks like the cut in scenes include the cockpits, an update of their attacks and of course, the females bouncing as usual!! Coming out this 29/11/12 on PS3!

Also, we have an upcoming Idolmaster game titled Idolmaster Shining Festa on the PSP and it comes in three versions. First is called Honey Sound which include Haruka, Chihaya, Azusa and Ritsuko. Second is called Funky Note which include Yayoi, Hibiki, Iori and the Futami Twins. The third is called Groovy Tune which include Takane, Miki, Makoto and Yukiho.

The game will be a rhythm game rather than the traditional Idolmaster game and it will have new animation footage done by the same animation staff.

For me, I will choose Honey Sound and Groovy Tune as it has all my favourite idols in it. Funky Note is for the loli group...Anyway it is coming out 25/10/12 on PSP!

DIGI NEWS: New Trailer of Lost Heroes! Coming this 6th of September on PSP and 3DS!

A few months back, I mentioned about Lost Heroes where the big three super heroes series-Ultraman, Kamen Rider and Gundam are coming back for a Dungeon RPG game on the Nintendo 3DS.

Now we have a five minute trailer of the game and it looks good! The story is about Ultraman Zero, Kamen Rider Ozu and Double-O Gundam battling an unknown evil and lost all their powers in the process.

As such, the evil forces have taken over the world and many heroes were captured or on the run. Now it is up to the player to bring the heroes together to save their worlds. Although the game play is a Dungeon maze game, however when our heroes used their attacks, you can actually see the action with their original voices and there is a custom route for each characters to upgrade their attacks and skills.!

A total of 15 characters can be used to form a party of four to explore the mazes.
Ultraman Series:
Ultraman, Ultra Seven, Ultraman Taro, Ultraman Mebius and Ultraman Zero

Kamen Rider Series:
Kamen Rider Ichigo, Kamen Rider Black RX, Kamen Rider Den-O, Kamen Rider Double and Kamen Rider Ozu,

Gundam Series:
Nu Gundam, Zeta Gundam, God Gundam, Wing Gundam and Double-O Gundam

Other characters will also appear in the series like Kamen Rider Skrull, Deathscythe Gundam and Ultraman Hikari. Whether can we use them is still unclear.

The first print for the 3DS version will include a download code to play the Famicom game-SD Heroes Sokessen which is the first crossover game in the series. The PSP version will include down loadable custom themes and additional bonus items for the game.

Coming out this 6th of September for both Nintendo 3DS and PSP!

DIGI NEWS: All Kamen Rider: Rider Generations 2 is coming to DS and PSP on August 2nd 2012!

I know this game is coming after seeing the news elsewhere but there was no trailer until today! Let me tell you, this is awesome! With 100 characters to choose from and the story is twice as long from the previous installment!

We have new characters like New Den-O, Skull, Meteor, Garren, Kaiser, G3-X, Gills, Knight and boss battles like Eternal, the Hopper Brothers, King Dark and even Core!

Fourze will get all 40 switches including the Cosmic State! Ozu will also get the Super Tatoba Combo and everyone's special attacks will be redone again to have more kick ass moments!

The game is coming out on August 2nd 2012 and if you preorder, you will get a special sticker book with all 50 riders in it including codes to unlock them immediately! This game will be coming to Nintendo DS and PSP so it will please both owners of the handheld consoles!

Now if only they could do a full console version of this game or a Super Sentai one....

DIGI NEWS: Strike Witches is coming on PSP/PS Vita!

The only thing we are getting now at the moment is just the title card which is called Strike Witches: Shiro Gin no Tsubasa or Silver Wings. But according to rumors, it is a shooter simulation game and it is coming out on PSP and PS Vita on 28 June 2012!

Now there is a reason to buy PS Vita! More details will be out once it come!

From the video, Shin Mazinger got the God Scrander, Black Getta appeared which mean we are going to move the story to the future after the events of the world turn into a wasteland because of the Getta Rays, Simon has grown out, Gundam 00 begin their second season, Macross Seven which I guess Ozama is a Big Fan and hopefully we don't get a tragic end like the 2nd Macross Frontier Movie. The introduction of Tetsujin 28 which remind me of Giant Robo and the fanservice of Kallen in a bunny suit and Mrs Yoko?!

DIGI NEWS: Heroes Phantasia First Impressions (Might contain some spoliers!)

I just got the game and here is my initial thoughts of it.

Gameplay: When I first saw the promo video, I thought it will be turn based. However it is more similar to Tales of Series with the chain combo and button mashing. You control a four man party and there is offense turn and defence turn.

In Offense turn, each character you allocate to the four buttons on your PSP-Square, Triangle, Cross and Circle. Two characters will be on the front line while another two will be on rear line. However certain characters are pre-determined to be rear line like Lina Inverse, Melissa and Amelia who are magic and healing users. Louie and Gourry are front line but there are some who can be both offence and defence like your main male or female lead  (Eiji or Shinobu) They have a determined number of action points to use and you have to be careful who to attack or defend in each turn. Special attacks can be used by pressing L button and the determined character you have position in the buttons. It will depleted a certain amount of PP and 200 action points each time. A full animation can be seen and it is basically like watching a scene from the series.

In Defence turn, press R button to pause the timer and change the position of your characters by using the D-pad. It can save you as the enemy might hit a blind spot and less damage can be done. You can also press the four buttons to go defensive for your characters. However it will depleted a large chunk of your PP and sometimes, it will take a while to rise up again.

Graphics: It is cell-shaded with your usual 3D background and field. The talking scenes are basically cell from the original shows and there is some voice over in certain scenes.

Story: You started with either choosing Eiji or Shinobu and you get to see some of the characters like Sgt Frog and gang battling plant creatures, Orphan battling Cobra from Sgt Frog. Then your main character who live in the world of REAL will actually met up with Kogoro (why can't I use the most awesome character in Sgt Frog?) and they went to investigate the HOLY Base from Scyred. After that, you met up with Lina, Gourry and the game's original character-a mage who teleport them to the World of Aruze (I am not sure that is the correct name) and your adventure begin.

It might be a bit different to understand the battle system but after some trial and error, I actually got the hang of it however the boss battles are tough and I died three times so far. Anyway, recommended for fans of anime as this is what we have been dreaming of. Cross-Over with our favourite heroes and I hope if they do a sequel, bring in more popular series to it and make it a franchise like Super Robot Wars!

DIGI NEWS: PSP Super Robot Wars Z2: Saisen Hen is coming on 5th April 2012!

Finally after almost one year of waiting, the conclusion to one of the best SRW series is coming this 5th April 2012!

This time there will be two new series joining the team-Taiyou no Shisha Tetsujin 28 go and Macross Seven series. In addition, Macross Frontier 2nd movie, Gurren Lagann and Code Geass R2 will continue their plot in the sequel. (Is Gundam 00 getting the second season in the game?)

Anyway, the rest of the cast from the first series are back so it will be one hell of a game!

DIGI NEWS: Great Battle Full Blast on PSP! (No, it's not Decade's Fault)

Look like Banpresto finally realise that the toku heroes need a good game to bring back the fans. We have Lost Heroes coming on 3DS. Using the same character design, Banpresto presents Great Battle Full Blast on PSP!

According to the screenshots, we have the following heroes-Ultraman, Ultraman Mebius, Kamen Rider Ichigo, Kamen Rider Decade, RX-78 Gundam and Freedom Gundam. What does these heroes do when they are together? What else, save the world!

There are also hero assist like Guncannon, Kamen Rider Kuuga and Zoffy helping the heroes along the way. Given that it is also the twenty anniversary of Great Battle, if you get the limited edition pack, it include a PSP game of Battle Dodgeball 3 and the graphic is really the Super NES era, Wow! Talk about Nostalgic!

I love Great Battle series and hopefully Banpresto can do a proper game with the Super Sentai Franchise and hopefully, Ultraman and Kamen Rider games on PS3 with HD graphics and kick-ass action!

Great Battle Full Blast will be out on 1st March 2012!

Heroes Phantasia Promo Video Trailer

We finally got a new promo video of the PSP game Heroes Phantasia that I talk about a few months back.

What I think about it?  I could rename this title of this game into: Sunrise x Production I.G x Kadokawa x Bones but that will be too long.

Anyway, other than Darker than Black series, I have watch every series from this game expect for Keroro Gusou which seems to never end. But it kinda of give some nostaglc feelings during a time when anime are good like Scyred, Slayers and even Mai Hime.

The battle system remind me of Tales of series with it's chain combo and the animation cut-in scenes is really nice just like the shows. (Yeah, Lina's Dragon Slay really take about a minute to chat the spell.)

Hopefully, if it is good, we can hope for another sequel where R.O.D the tv series, Mai Otome (My favourite) and even Record of Lodoss War could be in it.

Banpresto Games present: Heroes Fantasia and Weiß Schwarz Portable-Crossover on PSP

Coming this Winter is a crossover of ten different anime series in a RPG game called Heroes Fantasia. The story is not known but the characters of these ten series will team up (Like all cross-over games) to do what else? Save the world!

The series included:

Slayers Revolution
Orphen
Louie the Rune Soldier
ROD-Read or Die
Keroro Gusou
Blood+
s-Cry-ed
Mai Hime
Darker than Black
Darker than Black-Ryusei no Gemini

The gameplay is a four men party and the attack system is similar to Valkryie Profile. Of course, there will be interactions between the characters. Hopefully there will be voice-overs and animation clips to make the game better. No official date yet but probably Winter of this year.

Weiß Schwarz Portable: Fans of the anime card game will be rejoin that a PSP version will be coming on 23 November 2011. It's played like Yugi-Oh only with anime characters.

However there are two different version: Side Weiß which include the following series:
Nanoha As, Nanoha Strikers, Nanoha the First, Haruhi Suzumiya Series, A Certain Magical Index, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Angel Beats and one of the side characters from Little Busters. (I don't know this character.)

Side Schwarz will include the following series: Idolmaster Series, Fate Stay Night Series, Milky Holmes and the two Macross Frontier Movies. The gameplay will also include anime scenes like Saber's Excaliber or Misaka's Railgun Shoot.

There is also an original story where you play the card game with various female characters in a school and solve the mysteries for the battle. Through I wonder do I need both various to get every cards or both. Furthermore, Nanoha and Railgun is on one version while Fate Stay Night and Macross Frontier is in another version...Decisions, decisions...

Queen's Gate: Spiral Chaos on PSP

On 28/7/11, we will be getting Queen's Gate: Spiral Chaos on the PSP. Some of you know or might not know that it is a sequel to Queen's Blade: Spiral Chaos a few years back. But this time, Banpresto has pulled the stop and gave us fans of anime and video games a treat! By bringing some of our popular and hot female characters together for one awesome game!

How did this game come about? Originally Hobby Japan did the Queen's Blade series but they decided to do a spin-off using existing franchises and several characters will used for their Queen's Gate Series which are game books based on the "Lost Worlds" series.

The game is using a similar game system from Super Robots Wars given that it is from the same staff. The only difference is the attack commands which we can choose how to attack and when to attack. After damaging your enemy's armor, you can choose which part of the armor to break which will cause embarrassment to the enemy and even defeat without deleting their health to zero.

Some of the cast will include the following:

Shiranui Mai from Fatal Fury, Dizzy from Guilty Gear, Jubei from Samurai Girls, Lili from Tekken, Noel from Blazblue, Ivy from Soul Caliber, Iroha from Samurai Spirits, Hattori from Ichiban Ushiro no Dai-Mao-Oh and the entire cast of Queen's Blade. (The only character which I hope for but didn't appear is Kasumi from Dead or Alive which she is part of the Queen's Gate series)

I played the first one and I enjoy it and now with these new entires, it keep my blood pumping for more! (I know some of you want to rip Mai or Ivy's clothes off! For me, it's Iroha and Mina who are my favourites from Samurai Spirits)

When the game come, hopefully I can give some review about it!

First Impressions-SRW Z2 Hakai Hen and SRW Z2 Saisei Hen!

I just got the game yesterday and this is what I think about it! It's freaking AWESOME!!! The battle animations are top-notch for a PSP (Dissdia FF, eat your hearts out!) Basically you start off with your new original lead, Crow who got a unit which is a cross between Strike Gundam and Unicorn Gundam default head. He supposedly own people 1000000 G and he end up volunteer in this experiment to pilot the machine. 

As this is a huge cast, there are many factions of enemies to battle-Britannia, OZ, Mars Empire, Invaders, Dr Hell, Gilgamesh Army, Vajah and the mysterious dimensions Beasts which we saw in the opening movie. I was surprised that many of the new casts appeared earlier and we got to choose which factions to join-Celestina Being, Crusher Team (Which is the God Mars Team) or the Black Knights (I haven't figure  out how to join them, someone tell me how!?)

Most of the upgrading systems are from the previous installment like the PP system but they have a new system called sub operator which I have yet to figure that out. Most probably it is similar like the Guest system from SD Gundam G Generation series.

Now a piece of news! A new teaser trailer has been put up for the conclusion of this game! Super Robot Wars Z2-Saisei Hen or Reborn Chapter!

From the video, most of you have guess what it will be the end of the Hakai Hen. Zero/Lelouch lead the Black Knights in the Black Rebellion, the Wing Boys surrounded by the OZ and Herro surrendered!? Setsuna being ambushed and his comrades are down, the advent of Shin Dragon, Aoi was confused and Shinobu has to bail her out, the truth of Shin Mazinger, Takeru's vision of his brother, Mark, Ranka left with Brent after saying goodbye to Alto and the mysterious enemies known as the Emperor.

Super Robot Wars Z2 Promo Video 2

The new promo video is out and Banpresto did a number on the cast which I guess they redo a lot of the spirites and the animation cut-in scenes fit in perfectly! I can't wait for it to be released on 14/4/11!

A short review of Valkyrie Chronicles 3: Unrecorded Chronicles

Last year, I mentioned about Valkyrie Chronicles 3 on the PSP and whether will it be able to succeed it's previous sequels? I am afraid to say this but yes, it's better than the last two!

Gameplay: The battle system is same as the last two with a few new surprises. Kurt, our hero is able to use "Direct Control" leading a squad of three members to follow him. This actually can help those slower units to move faster at the cost of Kurt's action points. Riela, one of two female leads can become a Valkyrie and is virtually invincible against any enemy fire and she blast her way through with her shield and spear. Imca, the calm trooper carry her custom weapon and she can use "Open Fire" which can multi-lock on several enemy targets. The upgrading of class is much easier as the more you used a certain character, doing what they are suppose to do-eg: Scouts search, Shocktrooper attack, Sniper snipe from far. It is fair easy and now everyone is able to change class at any time during the base camp mode. I change Imca from her original Lancer to Shocktrooper and she tear down enemy units within minutes.

Story: Like I mention before, it is a side story about the 422 squad codenamed "Nameless". They are sent for the most suicide missions and all of them are given numbers to identify themselves. Kurt was framed by his superiors and was sent to lead the squad after the previous captain KIA. Along the way, he gained trust from his team and they started reveal their real names to him. Of course, Kurt and co met Welkin and his team in an early chapter and several of the VC2 characters in the later stages. The main villains in this story is a team known as Calamity Raven led by a Darsen named Dahau. He has his own reasons for joining the empire and he is not as evil or crazy like the previous villains.

Overall: I am quite happy with this sequel-a big improvement from the last one. So will Sega do a fourth one, realising that this could be their best work after Sakura Wars? But what can they talk about after this war? Maybe the European War or WW2? Whatever it is, let's enjoy the game while it last!

P.S: Speaking of sequels-the sequel that I am waiting is Marvel vs Capcom 3! I might do a review about it when it come out! See you then and hope you enjoy it!

Valkryie Chronicles 3: Unrecorded Chronicles (I just got the 2nd one and they have a 3rd one!?)

For those who own a PS3 know or play Valkryie Chronicles will know that it is a sleeper hit and one of the best SRPG game even for this generation. The 2nd one came out in PSP and many fans will upset as they are worried that the game will go downhill however with a new system and class changes, it was good for a sequel!

Then coming next year...Valkyrie Chronicles 3: Unrecorded Chronicles will be coming out in PSP again!

From what is known, the game take place between the first and second game and it focus on a Galia team named "Nameless" Look like Lia is already an awakened Valkryie and using her powers to fight with the Galia team and Iruka is a heavy gunner and she look badass with that heavy machine gun of hers.

Grado looks like the cool and calm leader, different from Welkin's intellect mind or Avan's hot blood attiude.
I could already sense a love triangle with the two girls and Grado..probably have to wait for the tralier to understand more details...
