Robot Girls Z Plus Ep 5 and Ep 6 FINAL Review: The Unlikely Hero!

Hi everyone! This is my review of Robot Girls Z Plus episode 5 and episode 6!

Both Team Z and Team G went to the Mayor's office to collect their rewards for saving the city. However it is a trap as the mayor is Super Space Beast Gilgil Ganko (Gigilgan in the original canon) in disguise and has used her powers to eliminate the Robot Girls.

Everyone included Team LOD and Team Go were also captured and Ganko broadcast to the city to witness the public execution of the girls. When Ganko has seem to kill them, Geccha's bulters arrived to save them.

The girls tried to defeat Ganko but she was too strong for them. Suddenly a familiar figure (Dr Yumi) gave Team Z a power up and they became Devil Wings Z Chan, Great Booster Gren Chan and Double Spacer Grenda Chan.

Team Z was winning and tried to defeat Ganko with Photonic Dynamic Special however it was too slow and Ganko avoid it. But Bossborokko used a mirror to deflect it and finally Ganko was defeated.

If you looked closely, there are a lot of easter eggs in this picture. Can you spot them all?

Later, the city erected a statue of Bossborokko for saving the city which got Z Chan and her into a fight and everything went back to normal as usual...

Ganko or Gigilan was the main monster for the movie-Great Mazinger vs Getta Robo and if you played some of the early Super Robot games-you do encounter this character which is one of the toughest enemies.

Here, Gigilan is a politician who used her powers to gain support of the people and to elimate the Robot Girls who are seem as nothing more than being WMDs. But the best part is Team Z gaining their power up which Dr Yumi gave them what looked like the face of Devilman. (Another famous Nagai Go manga and Mazinger did battle him in the Mazinger Z vs Devilman)

Z Chan became Devil Wing Z Chan which looked like a tone down Mazinkaiser, Great Booster Gre Chan which is the Great Booster locked onto her back and Double Spacer Grenda Chan which I like her being all carefree of her skin tight appearance. Of course, Bossborokko saved everyone by using a mirror (by accident) and defeated Ganko. (Told you Bossborokko will save everyone at the least expected moment!)

So we finally come to the end of the Robot Girls Z Plus series and what do I think about it? I want more of it! Seriously, if this show has a better budget, we can have a real series about the girls in action battling (and destroying) evil monsters and saving the world on a regular basics. However it seems Toei choose the easy route and it became a mini series.

Overall, I see both the first series and this one as one long season despite the short running time. Until we meet again, we thank all the Robot Girls for saving (destroying) the town and the world and if there is a third series, I will definitely follow it again!

Robot Girls Z Plus Ep 4 Review: The Naked Truth!

Hi everyone! This is my review of Robot Girls Z Plus episode 4 and the powerful Pikadron appeared in front of the girls!

Continuing from last episode, Pikadron challenged the girls to a battle. Geccha and her team tried to take her on but she keep absorbing their energy based attacks, Suddenly Pikadron shot a beam which reveal their weakness and they were defeated.

Team Z and Team Gou tried to stop her but failed. Gai Chan suggested to combine their powers (Actually Gai Chan took her two team mates armor parts by force) and she became Gai Chan the Great (Based on Gaiking the Great) However Gai Chan is pretty dumb and keep on using all her energy based attacks which deemed useless.

Suddenly Gai Chan activated Take Off the Great Mode (Which is actually Face Open Mode) which got Pikadron freak out at the sight of it. Gai Chan then used Burning Deadstorm which revealed Pikadron is wearing a power suit and it is connected to a truck. Bossborokko found a wire connected to her and a group of people are actually powering the suit.

Geccha got mad and used Shining Spark to defeat Pikadron and after that, everyone teased Geccha of her weakness...

Liger Sama can't read Kanji...

Po Chan is a fan of a constant defeated baseball team..

No comment!!!

This is a pretty funny episode especially seeing what the girls' weakness are. The only ones we didn't see are Team Gou and Grenda's weakness which spooked Pikadron. (Could be something so bad that they have to put mosaic in it) Geccha's weakness is a bit of surprise as she is not really a rich lady but actually wore simple clothings and behaving like a nerd at home.

Gai Chan is pretty awesome since we got to see Gai Chan the Great form although she is a complete idiot who keep using the same kind of attacks over again. If you want to know, Face Open Mode in the original is removing the face plate on Gaiking and revealing the internal parts of it. It is pretty scary at first but you get to use it.

Of course, Bossborokko saved the day by revealing Pikadron's power source and the group of people in the truck are victims who suffered the Robot Girls' constant attacks every day and ruining their business. Can't blame for being mad against the girls' collateral damages on them...

Overall, a fun episode to watch! Until then, see you next month!

Robot Girls Z Plus Ep 3 Review: What a Gathering!

Hi everyone! This is my review of Robot Girls Z Plus episode 3 and today it is the first Robot Girls festival!

Team Z were waiting in the dressing room although Z Chan claimed they are the strongest and the rest are pushover. Geccha and her team also arrived to add some insult when suddenly Hayato Jin (who came out of a locker) claimed he has created a new team-Team Gou!

Team Gou came on stage to introduce themselves but Team LOD also tried to snatch the spotlight from them. Everyone got on stage and were about to battle when suddenly Bossborokko crashed into the stage, ruining the whole festival.

Is Gre Chan poking Shou's breasts?!

The girls got up and heard an announcement from the mayor that to have everyone together as a big team rather than fighting each other which everyone agreed. However a mysterious lady is about to make her move on them...

This is probably my favourite episode since almost everyone is here. (Poor Jeeg San and Pan San) But it seems like Hayato (who probably went Coco for Coco Puffs) formed his own team-Team Gou which is based on Getta Robo Go. Getta Go (As it was known) is the black sheep of the Getta series since it is the least popular and came up during the 90s where Robo shows aren't interesting any more. Gou Chan is the lively one, Shou Chan is shy and Kai Ojou is proud.

Next is Team LOD is based of Gaiking: Legend of Daikumaryu. Now called Triple Gai Chan, she is still as hot-blooded like Z Chan whereas Rai Chi is like Liger Sama and Baru Chan is cute! But the best part is seeing Bossborokko crashed into the stage in her Boss Robot suit which in the original canon, it is made out of scrape parts from the leftovers in the Photon Energy Institute.

Poor Team T...

There are also some cameos like Baron Asura and her two followers selling refreshments in the audience stands. The remaining Team T members sulking as they watch Gai Chan and her new team and guess what, Musashi is still around in bandages! Of course, the last scene with the mysterious lady is based on Pikadron from the Getta Robo G vs Great Mazinger movie.

Robot Girls Z Plus Ep 2 Review: Farewell, Musashi!!! (Sort of?)

Hi everyone! This is my review of Robot Girls Z Plus episode 2 and today it is all about New Team G!

Basically Sky Magical Girl Grengan (based on Sky Beast Grangen) tried to attack the people in the local swimming pool but instead there were only fishermen using it. She attacked Bossborokko but was interrupted by Geccha Dragon and her team.

However the girls got captured and even the appearance of Jeeg San and her new partner, Pan San was useless as they too got caught. Suddenly Geccha's butlers, Ryoma and Musashi came to their aid. While this was going on, Bossborokko accidentally removed the plug from the pool, draining all the water out which gave Po Chan the chance to throw Grengan out of the pool.

But Grengan crashed into Musashi's car and were blown up in an explosion. Later Geccha introduced Benkei as a replacement for Musashi to everyone and they went back happily ever after except that Musashi and Grengan actually survive the crash...

This episode was a great episode if you like Team G and all the references from Getta Robo G. Let's start with Grengan which appeared in the Movie-Great Mazinger vs Getta Robo G and in the battle, Musashi crashed into Grengan in order to save Ryoma and Hayato. In here, it was parodied and even Ryoma shouted Musashi's name like in the movie. (Although Musashi died doing a Kamikaze attack in the final episode of Getta Robo and Benkei arrived in the first episode of Getta Robo G)

Next was Jeeg San and Paan San who are completely useless and the rest of the girls suspected that Pa Chan could be just a cos player and a Chuni byo since she behaved just like Jeeg San. Pan San is based on Paanazoid the robot horse in which Jeeg removed half of it's body and merged with Paanazoid like a human centaur. In here, it was done with hilarious results and Jeeg San even claimed Combination are cool...(face palm!)

Finally Geccha and her friends were caught by Grengan's tentacles was a fan service to the viewers and I love it! (It's Nagai Go, what do you expect from the man who created Devilman and Cutey Honey?) Although Gecchan was this close in using Shining Spark which is Getta Dragon's most powerful attack but we have Po Chan doing Musashi's trademark attack-Daisetsuzan Oroshi and even Ryoma shouting Getta Machine Gun which he used it in Getta Robo Armageddon and the Manga.

Even Bossborokko which I mentioned in the previous review that she will help the girls in a pinch and true enough, she was the one who unplug the water from the pool so yeah, Bossborokko also saved the day too.

Overall, I gave this episode an A plus with all the fun moments in this episode! Next episode is the introduction of Team LOD which is based on Gaiking: Legend of Daikumaryu. Until then, see you next month!
