Go Princess Precure Ep 13 Top 3 Moments and Review: Melody of the Twilight Princess

Gokigenyou! This is my review of Go Princess Precure episode 13 and it is the beginning of the Dark Princess Twilight Arc!

No 3: Haruka trying to learn to play the Violin.

After seeing a masked violist playing in front of her, Haruka decided to learn to play the violin. Minami brought her to see her violin instructor, Nishikido who owned a violin house. Haruka was allowed to choose a violin to practice (which happened to be Nishikido's first hand made violin) and asked Shamour to teach her. Minami and Kirara could played the violin well but Haruka's first try was so bad that it knocked Shamour off stage. (Just like Giant from Doraemon with his horrible singing voice!)

No 2: Haruka's encounter with the masked violist.

Haruka meet the masked violist again and even taught her how to play the violin (with evil intentions) Everyone went to take a look at her and no one could recognise her however Puff could sense an evil aura from the violist. (Actually it is no brainier for the viewers since the opening already spoil the suspense of who she is) Did anyone had a yuri moment when the masked violist went behind Haruka's back to guide her on the violin?

No 1: Meet Princess Twilight, Daughter of Dyspear!

As expected, the masked violist is Dyspear's daughter, Twilight and she appeared in front of the girls together with Shut. Twilight has her own Dress Up key which she used it to increase Shut's powers. Shut turned Nishikido into a Red Zetsuborg with more power than before. Although in the end, the girls defeated the Red Zetsuborg but Twilight claimed the Precures are not real princesses and she will defeat them eventually.

So we begin the long running arc (hopefully not) of Twilight becoming the rival to Cure Flora and how their ideals will conflicted each other in future episode. Her appearance was typical for an evil princess of darkness and the blue flames keep reminding me of Ao no Exorcist. (Blue Flames are usually used by the Devil himself so yeah, evil!)

Twilight is voiced by Miss Versatile, Sawashiro Miyuki who has probably played every kind of roles in anime-From young boys to handsome teens, good and bad girls roles even crazy, psychotic ones. So here as Twilight was a perfect match for her as her presence already make Shut fall in love with her. Who is going to think that in the future, Shut will do something crazy to win her heart or rather Twilight make use him to defeat the Precures?

There are some theories going around that Twilight and Kanata are siblings and Dyspear might be their mother who got turned to evil by some unknown force. Didn't we see that in Doki Doki and Suite? Hope Toei try something original since Go Princess Precure has been an interesting ride than Happiness Charge and Doki Doki. Overall, I give this episode a B plus since we have not know the full extent of Twilight's power but she is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

So Haruka's rivalry with Twilight continue in the next episode as the school is having a family day and Haruka's family has come to visit her. However Haruka's younger sister was not happy to see her again. Find out more in the next episode! Until then, Gokigenyou!

Marvel Disk Wars Avengers Full Series Review and Final Thoughts (Minor Spoliers)

Hi everyone! I have been very busy lately so I don't have time to review shows like Dog Days Season 3, Cinderella Girls and even Marvel Disk Wars Avengers due to my personal work life. I don't even have time to go through all the Spring shows that are out already. (Hopefully I can go through them eventually)

Anyway, here is my final review and thoughts of Marvel Disk Wars Avengers that ended last March.

If you are still living under a rock all these while, here is a short summary of the show-Tony Stark/Iron Man has created a new device named DISK that is able to hold any objects including humans for an indefinite period of time. He worked with Professor Akatsuki Nozomu from Japan and he invited his two sons, Akira and Hikaru to America to witness the unraveling of DISK. However Loki has send a lackey, Tim to steal the device and released many of the Super Villans from their prison.

In the chaos, the Avengers and many of the Marvel Super Heroes were captured into the DISK. But thanks to Spiderman, he managed to recover five of the disks and Akira, Hikaru and three more kids-Chris, Ed and Jessica were given the power to use the DISK. So the search begin to find the missing heroes and villains all over the world...

I love both Marvel and DC comics in general and I always look forward to how different interpretation of both heroes and villains will be from a different writer and artist will do. So when Toei animation and Marvel Comics team up to do this show, I was thinking will it have the same feel from the Madhouse's Marvel series?

But after reading the plot, it is clearly a show for kids and some might claimed it is ripping off Digimon and Pokemon. However instead of just focusing on the five main Avengers-Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and Wasp (Not Black Widow) Toei was allowed to use any characters from the Marvel Universe (Except for the Fantastic Four which is odd) and they really brought on some B-list and even C-list characters into the series.

The show also doesn't take itself too seriously and the kids are not stupid to know what is right and wrong (Except for Akira) which I really dislike him despite being the series leading kid. But there is a reason why it was done this way. Iron Man is the smart ass show off like his movie counterpart and a bit of hot head which played with Akira's curious nature and playfulness. On many occasions, they couldn't get along but once they do, their partnership was great. Furthermore, Tony actually felt responsible for causing Akira and Hikaru to loss their father not once but twice! So in a way, he is making up to the two brothers like a surrogate father.

Hikaru is the overprotective older brother which mirror Thor's issues with Loki for having an irresponsible sibling. Chris and Captain America couldn't get along at first due to Cap fearing of losing another partner like Bucky but in the end, they came to a compromise and several occasions, Chris actually save Cap's life. Ed and Hulk are the odd couple however Hulk see a bit of his alter ego on Ed since he is such a weakling but in the end, they came out to be the best partners among the five kids. Jessica and Wasp are two peas of a kind so not much to say about them.

The best part of the show are the episodes when Akira and Iron Man are not the focus of the episodes. Seriously, Akira was annoying at hell and keep shouting Tony's name every time he is in trouble. Iron Man himself is arrogant, cocky and sometime get ahead of himself. The only time he is good is when he is quietly building some device in his lab and Pepper keeping a lash on him.

Only in this universe where the Mandrain and Silver Samurai actually come and bail Iron Man's ass!

I am seeing that Marvel and Toei also agreed on some terms when doing the episodes. Like when Guardians of the Galaxy the movie was aired in Japan, the show actually introduced them in a two parter and together with the Avengers, they battled Ronan the Accuser and Fin Fang Foom. People complained that the Avengers never worked with the X-Men in the America series but here they did and Magneto was a bad ass smashing Sentinels Robots like paper. They even did their version of Age of Ultron with Hank Pym saving the day. (Yes, it is Hank Pym not Tony who created Ultron for all you newbies!)

Rocket looked cute!

Spidey and Blade working together? Make that a Movie!

Even Blade and Deadpool who are considered Anti heroes appeared and they were a lot of fun. Blade was killing vampires like a bad ass and Deadpool bring in his signature Fourth Wall jokes into the episode. Spidey was also awesome for the first arc of the series which he helped the kids in getting the Avengers together and we even had a Venom episode (Although it is actually Hulk who got possessed by the Symboite) Even future Marvel movie characters like Dr Strange, Black Partner, Iron Fist and Luke Cage were promoted in the show and they were a lot of fun.

The main villains were Loki and his cronies-The Celebrity Five who are a group of people who can called out villains to do their biding. Of course, we had villains like MODOK, Green Goblin, Baron Zemo and they even have Destroyers (which I find them to be pretty weak compared to the movies) Even Red Skull and Crossbones also appeared in the second arc and they make up to pretty good villains and the team up of all the heroes battling them was epic!

But the show also suffered some flaws especially the graphic department. Toei is not really the best in doing long term shows and you can tell some of the characters actually look horrible and action scenes was kept to a minimum for some episodes. Some of the characters also looked funny like Captain America looked like Mega Man Star Force, Iron Fist is a Red Indian Chief, Black Widow looked like a Barbie doll. The weblines in Spidey's costume were circular instead of curves and the Lizard looked like Lizard man from Soul Caliber.

The final arc which is Loki mind controlling Nozomu into becoming Ronin and in cahoots with Dormammu was pretty typical Super Villains plot. Loki double cross Dormammu to gain his powers which you can see it a mile away and he went totally insane on the heroes. But of course thanks to the power of Friendship, Teamwork and the usual Anime yelling, the heroes saved the day with Loki trapped in a DISK for the rest of his life. (Hahaha!)

Overall, the show is a pretty good one if you get over the usual anime moments and accept it as a retelling of the Marvel Universe in anime form, you will enjoy it. Especially when the characters don't behave like idiots like those from Avengers Assemble which I really dislike it. The whole show is full of Fanservice and if Toei wanted to make a sequel (provided the sales of the DISK toys are good which I doubt it) make more heroes and villains and please don't make Loki as the Big Bad since he is really overrated at this point.

The Power of Friendship, Teamwork and Anime Cliques!

Final Verdict: Good for your collection. Just watch the best episodes and you will be fine!

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal Ep 20 Review: Back to the Future Part 2?

Hello everyone! This is my Sailor Moon Crystal episode 20 review and seriously flashback can't take up 3/4 of an episode...

The short version was Chibi Usa's father is King Endymion and he is Mamoru's future self. Furthermore, Neo Queen Serentity is Usagi of the future who finally channel a way to turn everyone into immortals for a thousand years.

However a Dark Crystal asteroid crashed into Earth and created the Black Moon effect which killed everyone on Earth. Endymion and the four Sailor Senshis' bodies remained in comatose while Serentity is using her last energy to defend the castle.

All these information were a big shock to everyone especially Sailormoon and Mamoru since they knew Chibi Usa is their daughter. Even Luna and Artemis found out that Diana is their daughter too. However their past self cannot stay long in the future and they returned back to the present with the help of Sailor Pluto.

Back in the present, Sailormoon started arguing with Mamoru claiming he will take care of Chibi Usa (which is the worst act of immaturity I have even seen) But then Chibi Usa returned to the future but was ambushed by Esmeraude. Sailormoon and the others arrived but she is unable to use her powers since it doesn't work in the future.

But Sailor Venus and Mamoru defeated Esmeraude (Easiest boss fight ever!) however Demande arrived and captured Sailormoon with his third eye power...

I will like to say that Usagi is the worst female lead in the whole Sailormoon series. Maybe it is because I disliked spoilt and immature brats in general that when Demande captured her, I was actually cheering for her defeat! Usagi could not balance what is important in front of her-the fate of her friends and the future or the fact that Mamoru is caring more for his future daughter since she is all alone in the past.

I am guessing why a character like Usgai will only worked in the 90s rather than today because people are not as dumb or naive and they could understand how to balance what is important. (The Needs of the Many outweighs the Needs of the Few) Overall, Endymion telling everyone what is going on took up almost the entire episode and Esmeraude was killed in less than 5 minutes. Seriously, Sailormoon villains are one of the weakest in anime history.

In all, I gave this episode a C minus. A pretty bad episode with Usagi being a jerk and she deserved to be captured. Until then, see you in the next episode.

Go Princess Precure Ep 12 Top 3 Moments and Review: Run Donut Run!

Gokigenyou! This is my review of Go Princess Precure episode 12 and it is all about Donuts!

No 3: Yui joined Team Princess Precure.

Although this was a subtle moment but at least Yui can played a more supportive role in helping the girls. Despite her unable to join the fight against the Zetsuborg, Haruka and the others agreed her support is enough in the future. Even Kirara gave Yui her new nickname-Yuiyui. I am guessing that Kirara will only gave nicknames to close friends like Haruka and Minami. Later during the battle, Yui did her part in evacuating the civilians around the vicinity.

No 2: The new Dress Up Keys powers.

After last week's episode of the girls using the Crystal Rod together with the keys, we get to see how the individual keys worked and as expected, it is a more powerful version of the original keys attacks like Cure Flora's Rose Tourbillion, Cure Mermaid's Frozen Ripple and Cure Twinkle's Full Moon Humming. But the best part was when Cure Mermaid's plan to trap the Zetsuborg on it's tracks worked with the girls using their new powers to their advantages.

No 1: Kirara vs Ichijo Ranko, Future TV idol!

The main plot for this episode is Kirara was asked (Tempt by her manager) to do an interview for the Marble Donuts shop for a television program and Ranko was her co-host. Kirara played it naturally for the camera but Ranko's acting was over the top and some time, hilarious!

You know this kind of moment in anime mean that person is probably dead...(Parody of Ashita no Joe)

When both girls were make to run around the town in their own mascot design, it became an all out race for the two girls. Although Kirara reached the finishing line first, Ranko fell on her feet but didn't gave up. Everyone cheered for her including Kirara who was touched by her determination. A true Gutsy Donut! (That was Ranko's name for her mascot)

After saving Ranko from becoming a Zetsuborg and learning of her dream of becoming a TV celebrity (More like a comedian) They found out that Ranko was their third year senior at school and she is still determined to beat Kirara the next time they are together.

Overall, I give this episode a B minus. There were some funny moments between Kirara and Ranko who is voiced by Yahagi Sayuri (To Love Ru's Haruna and Hayate no Gotoku's Izumi) and I hope she can make a comeback in a future episode. As a matter of fact, I am surprised the amount of guest seiyuus for this season but it is good since the fans will have a rough idea who are potential Precure materials for future series.

How did Haruka got all those ribbons on her head?

The other funny part was Haruka, specifically her hair as she keep putting more ribbons on her hair as seeing both Kirara and Ranko competing each other got her all anxious and the last scene when she realised the camera didn't caught her on TV was priceless.

Anyway, this episode was a funny filler. Although you can see after Close's death, Shut was anxious about it since he could be next on Dyspear's list. However Dyspear has recruited a new ally-The Dark Princesss of Zetsuborg. What is her plan as she make her appearance in front of Haruka and the others? Find out more next week! Gokigenyou!

The end credit card end with Kirara posing with a donut! CUTE!!

Go Princess Precure Ep 11 Top 5 Moments and Review: The New Power! Princess Crystal Rod!!

Gokigenyou! This is my review of Go Princess Precure episode 11 and we got a lot of great moments in this episode!

No 5: Trapped in Zetsuborg Subspace.

Dyspear decided to give Close one last chance and she send everyone including Yui and the Mascots into Zetsuborg Subspace where the Zetsuborg's strength increase tenfold similar to the Saiark influences in the Blue Sky Kingdom. The three Precures tried to use their new keys however nothing happened and had to fight in default.

But in this case, both Cure Mermaid and Cure Twinkle actually hold on their own against their Zetsuborg opponents and even defeated them! Yui and the Mascots actually spend half of the episode hiding from the Zetsuborg though I wonder what happen to it after the end of the episode? Probably got blown up like the rest. Luckily the Zetsuborg Subspace is not as bad as the Saiark influences since that caused everyone power to drop to 1/1000.

No 4: Yui learned more about the Precures and Kanata.

This was a funny scene especially when both Puff and Aroma tried to hide their true identifies from Yui. Aroma tried to talk like a parrot while Puff meow like a cat which is a hilarious face palm! Even Yui didn't fall for Puff's charades.

When they were hiding from the Zetsuborg, Kanata communicated them through the Princess Pad and told them about the Princes Crystal Rod and how to use it. (Basically it is the usual Believe in your Dreams talk!)

No 3: Cure Flora vs Power Up Close.

This is a pretty good fight since Close is completely obsessed of killing Cure Flora as she was responsible for ruining his plans in the first episode. Close became more muscle bound with wings behind his back. His powers even overwhelmed all three Precures and knocked them down to the ground!

When the three Precures used their "Dream" energy to break the Subspace, Close became a giant Crow monster and stop the energy beam without a sweat. He then retaliate by knocking the girls down three times!

No 2: Believe in your dream again!

Cure Flora nearly gave up but thanks to Yui who saved her from certain death. Yui then thanked Cure Flora for protecting her dreams and decided to help her to achieve her dreams. Cure Mermaid and Cure Twinkle also joined in and together broke the Subspace which allowed Kanata to send the Princess Crystal Rods to them.

No 1: The New Power! The Princess Crystal Rod!

Of course, the girls got their new merchandise...I mean new powers and guess what? It is used together with the new keys! The three Precures got a new dress form and a new combination attack-Precure Trinity Lumiere which resembled Fresh Precure's Rod weapons.

I loved how they formed the shape of a crown with the Crystal Rod and blast it at Close. Even the final blow is the twirling of their Rods and Close actually die which is like the first in Precure history where a general died (Not purified) pretty early in the series.

I had so much fun watching this episode from the moment Dyspear appeared in front of them. I like how Cure Twinkle decided to act first and fired Twinkle Humming at Dyspear (Twinkle shoot first! Star Wars fans will know what I am talking about!) thinking she can end the battle quickly.

The fight between Cure Flora and Close is the main highlight and I know that Close will behave like a crazed Adachi from Persona 4 when he is pushed to a corner. Truth enough, he throw all his rage at Cure Flora since he blamed her for using such desperate measures. I got a feeling that Dyspear knew it is a one way trip for Close in the Subspace since using such powers could mean death and from the way how the Trinity Lumiere finish him off at full power, Close is really gone.

Looking at how Cure Flora looked at all the fallen feathers after Close's death, she felt a sense of sadness since she has to take a life to save herself and everyone. It is like Cure Flora wish there was another way she could save Close despite the number of times they met. Even Dyspear was filled with hatred after Close's death and I am pretty sure she is planning something more sinister to defeat the girls.

With Yui now learning the girls' secret identifies, she can actually act as a more supportive role now especially when the girls need to bail out from classes to save the day on a regular basics. Furthermore, she is the one who actually deliver the motivate speech to Cure Flora and lend her strength to get the Crystal Rod.

I am aware that a new general, Twilight will be appearing to take over Close's place and she is rumored to be the Princess of the Zetsuborg and is the masked girl with the violin from the opening.

After two intense episodes, we are back to our normal filler and this time is Kirara who has to partner with a popular Idol from school in a television program. However the Idol has some plans to humiliate Kirara. Find out more next week!

Oh yeah...this episode is not just an A plus three Princess Crystal Rods up! Gokigenyou!
