Tropical Rouge Precure Ep 7 Review: Here's Kururun!

Hi, Everyone! This is my review of Tropical Rouge Precure Episode 7 and the fairy spirit from Gran Ocean, Kururun has arrived with a gift for Laura and the girls!

Since most of you have watched the episode, I will just give my thoughts about this episode. Despite being the official appearance of Kururun and the new general, Elda the Prawn Maid, it is more of a Minori episode as she is the only one who could figure out what Kururun was thinking like it is hungry and trying to find the Queen's gift for the girls.

Laura was impressed by Minori's deduction but she claimed it is her imagination from reading many books that she was able to understand Kururun. Even during the battle with the Yaranade, Cure Papaya figured out to use ropes to make the Yaranade off balance and finished it quickly.

Even though Elda is on the villains' sides, I hope she doesn't get killed off as she is still innocent and does not understand the seriousness of the main situation.

Being the youngest of the generals, Elda does not want to fight but Bulter promises to reward her if she could find out what the Queen's gift that her character easily gullible. Furthermore, during the battle, she has an arguing session with Laura and Kururn who refused to hand over the gift. We do find out the gift was actually a fruit basket from Gran Ocean which suggested that Laura was homesick and the Queen gave the fruits a reminder of home.

After the battle, the girls gathered to eat the fruits and they learn the Aqua Pot was able to create bubble memories like a camera. The girls took some photos and Laura throw the group photo into the sea which reached the Queen who know that Laura has finally found the Precures...

This is definitely paying homage to JAKQ Dengekitai Big Bomber!

Overall, this episode was kinda a let down despite having some character development from Minori about how she is the brain of the group. I was really expecting some power item but we haven't reached the first quarter yet which is when the team first power-up item will appear. (That cannon thing looked certain like a team power-up but it was just their imagination)

Furthermore, I find that the team has no real goal after becoming Precures. No MacGuffin items to look for and other than defeating the monster of the week, this season is more slice of life than plot-heavy like certain past seasons. Maybe not at the moment but I hope this season will least be more meta in its plot in future episodes.

Next episode, after seeing Asuka's beautiful bento meal, the girls decided to make bento meals for their club activity! Until then, stay safe and see you in the next post!
