Azur Lane the Animation Ep 8 Review: The Hand that connect us...

Hi Everyone! This is my Azur Lane Episode 8 Review and what happened to everyone after Enterprise's crazy stunt last episode?

The Azur Lane Fleet were recovering from the previous battle and realised that they are in an unknown location with a strong blizzard and the sky seem to be tearing itself apart. However, Enterprise is still missing...

Laffey and Javelin are trying to find the main fleet and they came across Ayanami and she again question why they refuse to fight with her. They tried to convince her that they want to be friends despite their alliances. Suddenly Yudachi, Yukikaze and Shigure thought that Ayanami was being attacked and quickly retreated her back to the Sakura Empire Fleet.

I am guessing that the two are young Akagi and Kaga...

Amagi's eyes looked Siren-like...

Belfast also arrived to find Laffey and Javelin and advise them to return to their fleet. Enterprise was in a trance and found herself talking to Amagi (She does not know Amagi) and somehow influenced Enterprise's mind on the horror of wars.

At the Sakura Empire Fleet, Kaga survived but is badly hurt. She also noticed that Akagi is missing and they have tried searching her to no avail. The Siren ships were also not moving and the power that Akagi used in the previous battle has Shoukaku asking everyone about them not being told the truth of the Siren technology and Akagi's agenda.

Belfast was still searching for Enterprise and did not blame the two destroyers for befriending Ayanami. In fact, she encouraged the two destroyers to believe in what they think is right as they can be more than just weapons.

At the same time, both sides have reported each other locations and Souryu gave the orders for everyone to retreat despite Kaga's protest that Akagi is still missing. Zuikaku and Shoukaku volunteered to stay behind to hold off Azur Lane and prepare to move off. As they were moving off, Ayanami also has her doubts while the Humanoid Siren Tester and Observer were watching their every move from afar and Observer was holding an unconscious Akagi as a hostage.

The Azur Lane fleet tried to stop the Crane Sisters attacks but they were too fast. Suddenly Zuikaku spotted Enterprise and she started attacking mercilessly on the Crane Sisters which resulted in Shoukaku badly injured. Everyone in Azur Lane was shocked by Enterprise's actions.

Enterprise was still in a trance and Observer influence her that the answer to end all wars is to destroy everything. Zuikaku fired her last shot at Enterprise which only tipped off her cap. Enterprise released a bomber plane to finish the Crane Sisters when Ayanami suddenly appeared and destroyed the plane.

However, the explosion knocked Ayanami out of the sky and she is falling into a void. Enterprise saw what she has done and came out of her trance. Belfast immediately ordered Javelin and Laffey to save her and they managed to catch hold of her and Ayanami thank both of them...

This episode might not have a long battle like last week however there were character developments from both sides. Laffey and Javelin were worried that they will be reprimanded for befriending Ayanami but Belfast is a reasonable person and encourage both girls to do the right thing which they finally did at the end and save Ayanami from certain doom.

Despite being acting childish all these while, Shoukaku actually questions about the truth of the Siren technology and what secret is Akagi hiding from everyone which it is similar to how in the game, it was the Crane sisters who learn the truth of the Sirens and change sides with Azur Lane.  Guess what, Akagi is still alive but unconscious which the Sirens are already planning their next move since their goal of powering the Black Cube is completed so I am pretty sure the Sakura Empire will have no choice but to join forces with Azur Lane in the future. (Where on Earth is the Iron Blood forces all these while?)

Enterprise was also influenced by Observer which I am guessing she is mimicking Amagi to make Enterprise feel guilty of everything including Yorktown which we saw in her trance in a total wreck. So how will the rest of Azur Lane be able to save her humanity in the upcoming episodes? Of course, the battle between the Crane Sisters and Enterprise was intense and brutal. If Ayanami did not show up at the last minute, the Crane Sisters will be a goner.

So with Ayanami and the Crane Sisters being taken in by Azur Lane, will they able to change the tide of battle and unite against the Sirens? Until then, see you in the next post!

Azur Lane the Animation Ep 7 Review: Everything Changes...

Hi Everyone! This is my Azur Lane Episode 7 Review and it is one hell of a battle!

The Azur Lane forces were battling the Sakura Empire and Sirens in a strange environment as Akagi and a pair of glowing eyes Enterprise face each other in the heavy storm...

A few hours ago, Azur Lane has sent their fleets to take on the Sakura Empire after knowing what Akagi is conspiring with the Sirens. Both sides were preparing themselves for the upcoming battle which even Javelin and Laffey were ready to face Ayanami when they meet her.

Akagi used some kind of magic to transport Azur Lane into another dimension where they were surrounded by Sirens and everyone started fighting each other.

Zuikaku saw Enterprise in the air and wanted to go after her, however, Kaga ordered her to stand aside as she wants payback for what Enterprise did to her before. Enterprise told Kaga that Akashi has told them everything between Akagi and the Sirens but Kaga was too stubborn and continue to battle Enterprise.

When did Akagi learn Gilgamesh's Special?!

Belfast takes on Akagi but she summoned numerous cannons behind her taking shots at Belfast. Enterprise got distracted by Belfast and was shot down by Kaga. As Enterprise submerged into the abyss, the Black Mental cube suddenly resonated with her and she saw a vision of Code G carrying the bodies of Sirens and their eyes meet each other.

Enterprise was reawakened with sinister glowing eyes and even the Observer Siren commented that Enterprise is the "Key" no matter in which time era. Enterprise then fired a shot at Kaga which she fell into the ocean. Enterprise's body suddenly releases a large amount of energy that covered everyone in the ocean. The next thing that happened was Akagi was facing Enterprise alone in the storm.

Akagi gave her all and Enterprise fired a shot that pierced Akagi's body and she fell. Enterprise suddenly reawakens from her trance saw what she did to Akagi and remember what Unicorn asked her before about the ocean. A tearful Enterprise could only answer that the ocean is scary...

This gives Nightmare!

Akagi woke up in a strange place and thought she saw her elder sister Amagi however it was just a blank face and Akagi was shocked with the Observer Siren telling her that it is not over yet...

After one week of delay which Episode 6.5 is a recap episode with Mikasa narrating the whole episode, we are back to action and it is a full-on battle between Azur Lane and the Sakura Empire. Of course, more questions than answers have revealed with Enterprise has somehow awakened a part of Code G which gave her unlimited powers and the Observer Siren's comments on Enterprise is the key in every time era make me believe that the Sirens has been travelling back time to see if history is repeating itself which the conclusion will always be that Enterprise will become Code G and destroy everyone in the end.

Somehow I am guessing that there must be some hidden factor to break the cycle and unite everyone to defeat the Sirens. (Even though in the game is the player who acts as the commander) But since we do not have a commander in the anime it must be something else we have miss out. Now with Enterprise really suffering from PTSD after taking down Akagi, it looks like it's up to Belfast and the rest of the girls to get Enterprise up on her feet. I am also guessing Enterprise used her power to send everyone out of the dimension when she first awakens her power.

The shocker in this episode is Akagi who is probably dead (or not) seeing a blank face of Amagi and the Observer Siren telling her it is not over which could indicate that Akagi and hopefully Kaga could come back later in the second half.

Newly added: San Diego and Long Island.

Vestal, Takao and Shokaku also joined in the table.

So with Akagi and Kaga out of the picture, will the Sakura Empire give in to Azur Lane or they will continue the fight with the Iron Blood fleet who is absent in this episode? What will happen to Enterprise now and Javelin and Laffey able to converse their feelings to Ayanami again which they did not in this episode? Until then, see you in the next post!
