Kirayaba! This is my review of Star Twinkle Precure Ep 29 and the girls finally arrived at Lala's home planet Samman!
When they landed on Planet Samman, Lala's superior Kuku arrived and asked Hikaru and company's identifies. Lala's AI pulled a fast one claiming they are space refugees and were hitching a ride on Lala's ship.
Oddly enough, Kuku accepted it claiming the AI was correct. Lala also explained their planet is controlled by a main AI called "Mother" who decided their lives even since they were born. They also met the head of Galactic Starscape Alliance- Topper who is here to award Lala's brother Lolo for the recovery of one of the missing Star Princess Pen.
Of course, Lolo and his family arrived and the award ceremony was broadcast live throughout the planet. Later Lala introduced her family to her friends and they learn that Lolo is a first class investigator while Lala is a low class investigator who is in charge of space junk.
Lala brought the girls to a hologram room to relax and Madoka spoke to Lala as she sense Lala was unhappy meeting her family earlier. Lala wished to tell her family that she is a Precure and her adventures but worried that her family might be back off by her actions. Madoka also claimed she is worried of the consequences if she told her father of her being a Precure and what might happen next. But the two girls agreed that they weren't be here today if it wasn't for Hikaru who advised them to search their feelings.
Suddenly Tenjou arrived and stole the Princess pen from Kuku. She turned Kuku into a Knot Trigger and the girls transformed! The girls fought the foot soldiers while Cure Milky take on the Knot Trigger! Cure Milky want to protect her family and planet as such she gave her all and managed to take back the Princess Pen.
After Cure Cosmos purified the Knot Trigger back to Kuku, he woke up and forgot what happened earlier. He saw Lala was holding the Princess Pen and a portion of the camera footage showed Tenjou attacking the lab. Kuku immediately accused Lala of stealing the Princess Pen and issued a warrant for her arrest. The girls including Lala has no choice but to flee while Aiwan is watching everything that is unfolded...
I know you and me have the same thinking when we saw that Planet Samman is operated by a main AI called "Mother" which brought back thoughts of Fresh Precure's Setsuna home world where Mebius ruled the world with an iron first and I won't be surprised if "Mother" went all Skynet and turned Planet Samman into a living hell. (Which apparently that what happen when Aiwan hacked the system next episode)
I kinda of understand that Lala was worried to break the news to her family that she abandoned her duties (Which she should, I mean who investigate Space Junks?) and choose to become a Precure. But then she and Madoka and maybe all the girls probably agreed that Hikaru has influenced them and their lives was filled with excitement and adventures! I also think that Lala's AI also choose to lie to Kuku about the girls' identifies which I am thinking that her AI is also influenced to make it's own choice.
Lala's family are also a bit weird which they worshipped "Mother" and let it control their lives. Although unintentional, Lolo was insensitive by declaring himself as a first class investigator (which was decided by Mother) and embarrassing Lala's position in front of her friends.
The fight animation especially Lala's expressions was pretty good and her giving her all is similar to last week's episode of Cure Soleli and Cure Selene who displayed pushing their limits to protect Flare the Alien Engineer. Maybe the key to defeating Darkness is "Go beyond plus Ultra?"
Although I facepalmed that Kuku immediately accused Lala of stealing the Princess Pen without seeing the whole picture and now everyone is after the girls on Planet Samman! Can the girls clear their name and Aiwan is going to all hacker mode to corrupt Mother! Until then, see you in the next post!
Kirayaba! This is my review of Star Twinkle Precure Ep 27 and the girls are on their way to the Ocean Planet to repair their spaceship!
The girls arrived at Ocean Planet but they have to go through the ocean floor in order to reach the surface as such Yanyan gave the girls an one-off item and they turned into mermaids to enjoy the scenery.
But Aiwan who was tracking them through their Princess pens appeared and force the girls to land on a nearby breathable surface. Aiwan was filled with hatred about Yuni's betrayal which caused her to be kick out of the Knotraiders and now her sole target is Yuni.
But the girls counter back Aiwan that she petrified the natives of Rainbow planet and the Knotraiders invade countless planets for the search of the Princess Pens. But she refused to listen and used her own creation (from Yuni's stolen spaceship) - The Aiwan Robot 16! (She even claimed the first 15 robots were prototypes)
The girls went to battle and Cure Cosmos was about to strike her but she felt responsible for Aiwan's downfall which Aiwan just attack her anyway. Aiwan even claimed that Cure Cosmos lied her way from being an idol, a cat burglar and a member of Knotraiders. But Cure Star stand with Cure Cosmos that she has changed her ways and the rest have accepted her as a friend.
The girls then drove off Aiwan and she swore to return again. After that the girls continue their journey and arrived at Yanyan's hometown...
Despite have a title about the Ocean Planet, it is more on how Aiwan who was fallen from grace and now become a hatred person out for revenge. Seeing she is no more with the Knotraiders, it is possible that she will have her own agenda and probably will take out anyone including the Knotraiders for her revenge. (Why does Aiwan has better motivation that the last few season of Precure's evil generals? Maybe Toei took a page from Super Sentai and Kamen Rider's villains to make Aiwan such an interesting character)
The fight itself is not interesting and kinda of one-sided but I am pretty sure Aiwan will continue to upgrade her robot till it will become a real threat for the girls. Overall than the girls swimming around in mermaid outfits (Like a certain MLP movie), the focus is on Aiwan and how it will affect the rest of the season.
Next episode, the girls found an engineer who can repair their spaceship and Elena and Madoka need to work together in order to get it done. Until then, see you in the next post!
Kirayaba! This is my review of Star Twinkle Precure Ep 26 and the girls are off to Lala's home planet, Planet Samman!
Before that let me give you my quick thoughts of Ep 23 to 25.
Ep 23 is about the multiple Fuwa running loose in town and how Yuni felt responsible and tried to solve the problem on her own but the others help her and she learn the value of teamwork.
Ep 24 was about Madoka as she felt that she doesn't deserve to win in a piano contest after seeing her fellow contestants performing better than her but when an Alien showman was trying to win an Ice Girl's heart, Madoka learn about enjoying her performance rather making everything a contest instead. (They also got the Aquarius Princess pen in the end)
Ep 25 is a repeat of Yuni learning friendship and teamwork as they enjoyed themselves in a night festival. (We get it Toei! You don't have to drill friendship and teamwork every episode!) The only good part is at the end when Lala's older Twin brother Lolo send a transmission to ask her to return to Planet Samman immediately!
Which is where we are now! Hikaru suggested that they go to Planet Samman with Lala and she was reluctant for the girls to follow but the majority win and everyone got permission to go space with the help of Mr Abraham who came up with an excuse for the girls to assist in his next movie.
As the spaceship blasted off, Fuwa was too tired (After talking with Hikaru the night before) and as a result transport the spaceship to another part of the galaxy. While waiting for Fuwa to rest, Hikaru suggested a slumber party and what a way to start a party then to watch a Sci-Fi Horror movie!
Lala couldn't get into the movie, Hikaru and Madoka were into the movie (Including Madoka keep telling Hikaru not to spoil the movie) Elena was a scary cat (Priceless!) and Yuni felt asleep. After the movie, the girls started talking about how unbelievable that the five of them became friends and is now having a slumber party in space.
Madoka explained that she is going overseas after she graduated which is what her father and grandfather did the same at her age. Elena was worried about her siblings and wonder if her parents could handle them. Lala told them her parents are well known people on her planet and she felt the pressure of being their child. Hikaru was glad to meet everyone and became friends with them and fulfil her dream of exploring in space!
Suddenly they realised they have a stowaway- A hermit crab alien named Yanyan! She was a stowaway on another spaceship and was kicked out onto the asteroid until she saw Lala's spaceship and hide there.
Kappard also spotted the girls and turned Yanyan into his weapon! The girls went to battle and were having problems manoeuvring in space however they overcame it and drove Kappard away!
Lala's spaceship suffered damages and Yanyan suggested to come to her home planet to get it fixed. Using Prunce as propulsion, they were on their way to Yanyan's planet- The Ocean Planet!
What I like about this episode? Other than the girls watching a horror film and Elena's priceless expression, I like how the girls express their thoughts as similar to previous seasons, there will be a moment where the girls speak about their dreams and anxiety.
Madoka going overseas could be a future episode plot and probably a conflict might make Madoka to choose her path. Elena loved her family a bit too much which might become an episode since she felt being the eldest, she shoulder the responsibility of taking care of the family not realising that her personal life is also important.
Looking how Lala react in returning to her home planet already suggested that she doesn't have a close relationship with her family. (We will just have to wait till episode 29 for them to arrive at Planet Samman to find out why)
Hikaru is also glad to meet everyone. Remember in the beginning of the season that she doesn't have anyone to share her interests beside her father and probably she was a nobody in school before she meet Lala and the others. After 26 episodes, we can see that Hikaru really treasure friendship and have people who can share and understand her interests.
So what happened next? We did get a new opening with Yuni/Cure Cosmos joining the rest and look like Aiwan has become Hoodie Aiwan and seeing in the next episode, she is back with a vengeance to defeat the girls! Until then, see you in the next post!
