Hugtto Precure Ep 41 Top 4 Moments: Shout My Soul!

Horray! Horray! This is my review of Hugtto Precure Ep 41 and how does Emiru react with the truth that Ruru will return to the future?

No 4: Meet Grandpa Aisaki!

We are introduced to Emiru's Grandfather Aisaki (I don't know his first name so we just call him Grandpa Aisaki for now) as mentioned before by Masato in an earlier episode, he is the real head honcho of the Aisaki corporation and your typical stubborn rich old man.

Bishin tried to trick Grandpa Aisaki into thinking that Emiru is in an idol group and is a bad influence to her which after Emiru lost her voice, he barged in and tried to take Emiru away from the girls. (Although I am suspecting if Emiru's parents do care about their daughter at this point since they still are living in their own world and even Grandpa find them annoying)

But thanks to Masato's interference and telling Emiru to let out her feelings, she finally got back her voice and ran off with Ruru. Grandpa Aisaki was furious and Bishin took this chance to turn him into an Oshimaida.

Even after the battle, Grandpa Aisaki was still his grumpy self and refuse to see Emiru's performance. It seem that it will take more than a purification for Grandpa Aisaki to accept Emiru's dream for now..

No 3: Emiru went all coco-puffs!

This was probably my funny moments when Emiru started behaving like a stiff robot with cat-like features and reacting little to none emotions on her surroundings. The girls tried all ways to make her better and even Masato tried with a bad joke that put a chill in the room.

No 2: Emiru and Ruru's True Feelings.

Both Emiru and Ruru were conflicted on the future more for Emiru since she will lose her best friend and partner. So when Ruru met her in the episode, Emiru suddenly lose her voice as she tried to say out her feelings. Even worse, both of their Mirai crystals disappeared. My theroy is the Mirai Crystals represent their emotional state and is probably sentient.

If an user like Emiru has unstable emotions, the Mirai Crystal which was manifest from their feelings will be able to sense if Emiru is worthy or not. Furthermore, Emiru and Ruru are one unit together and will also affect Ruru too.

So after Emiru got back her voice, she ran off with Ruru but was chased by her grandpa's Oshimaida. Ruru shielded Emiru from an attack by the Oshimaida and Emiru got all worked up. Emiru finally admitted that she is afraid of losing Ruru. Ruru admitted that she too is afraid but she has to go back to the future as in the future, music and songs does not exist anymore and Ruru wanted to use what she learn in the present to help the future.

Ruru told Emiru she will always remember their friendship and will think about her whenever she perform in the future as that is now her dream and goal! She even promise that she will wait for Emiru in the future which reawaken their Mirai Crystals.

No 1: That Day will Come...

After the battle, Emiru and Ruru had a concert performance and it was a success. Back in the dressing room, Hug-Tan could sense Ruru's worries of going back to the future and gave her a pat on the head. Ruru started to cry which got everyone too all worked up and they have a group hug. They knew the day will come for them to leave but for now, their friendship bond is stronger than ever...

I am glad that we got some closures between Emiru and Ruru and Toei didn't try to make all sugar coat in this episode. We do have some funny moments from Emiru's coco-puff expressions. I really like how Emiru and Ruru were very honest about their feelings about each other especially when Ruru told her that she now has a dream to bring music back to the future and even promise to wait for Emiru in the future. (Which I am wondering how far the future is from their present timeline?)

Grandpa Aisaki's introduction was expected from the typical rich old man who love their grandchild so much but didn't consider their feelings. I find him barging in and ranting like a spoil kid was expected but I felt this scene to be a bit short which you have expected Emiru to just go with her grandpa and later rebel in a few scenes later. But then it will be two-parter.

You notice that I didn't talk about Henri in the episode but seeing the epilogue and looking at Ristle's card with temptation, you know we are getting a Homare/Henri centric next episode and is that Henri in Precure get-up!? Until then, see you in the next post!

Hugtto Precure Ep 40 Top 3 Moments: The Meaning of Amour!

Horray! Horray! This is my review of Hugtto Precure Ep 40 and what is Dr Trauma's connection to Ruru?

No 3: Cure Tomorrow and the Future!

Dr Trauma explained to the girls of how Cure Tomorrow and her fellow Cures tried to stop Crisis from taking over the world in the future and the Cures were empowered by the Goddess known as "Mother."

Harry continued the story and explained that after his village was destroyed, he became a mindless creature only to serve Crisis until he meet Cure Tomorrow who promised him that the future can be changed.

However Cure Tomorrow was captured by Crisis and her fellow cures were defeated. (Unsure if they died or froze in time) Harry decided to bet on Cure Tomorrow and make a daring escape with her. Cure Tomorrow used the last of the Mirai Crystal to send them to the past but it resulted Cure Tomorrow to revert into a baby-Hug Tan. (It also showed that Emiru is the fourth person to hear Hug-Tan's cries in the first episode)

The girls then realised that Hug-Tan is Cure Tomorrow which got Homare speechless. With the final Mirai Crystal revealed, George ordered Jenos and Bishin to capture Hug-Tan at all cost.

No 2: Daddy will protect you!

It is no secret that Dr Trauma does care about Ruru and during the battle with Jenos' Oshimaida, he shielded Cure Amour from the attack which of course Jenos branded him a traitor.

The Minna De Tomorrow also got additional scene with "Mother" actually hugging the Oshimaida before purifying it. (Which I was right in my previous review that "Mother" should hug the Oshimaida like the opening credits)

No 1: Dr Trauma and Ruru's Past!

After explaining everything to the girls, Ruru was not convinced that Dr Trauma is her creator/father and fled the shop. She was seen later snacking on takoyaki non-stop. (which I guess that how Ruru handle her stress by eating herself like a glutton)

Hana and Hug-Tan found her and Ruru explained that she felt a sense of anxiety after meeting Dr Trauma but Hana explained it is her feelings that is doing that. Hana even explained that her parents named her Hana is for her to become as bright and lively like a flower.

Hana even told her that Amour means "Love" in French which probably explained Dr Trauma's unconditional love for Ruru when she was first awaken.

Dr Trauma arrived and he explained that her initial program was a failure since Ruru take orders literally and unable to understand human emotions. A little girl in his mind make Dr Trauma regret creating Ruru and he immediately deleted her data and send her to serve Crisis. (Which explained why she has no memory of him when they first met)

I do believe that the little girl is probably Dr Trauma's biological daughter and something bad happened to her which resulted in him creating Ruru as a surrogate daughter. However Ruru did not live to his expectations and he now regretted for abandoning Ruru.

Man, We just reach Astro Boy's level of dark. If you are not familiar with the origin of Astro Boy, Astro was created by Dr Tenma with the splitting image of his dead son, Tobio however Astro behave more like a robot rather than a human which angered Dr Temna and sold Astro away to the circus. Like Ruru, Astro learn the value of human life from Dr Ochaimizu who saved him and became a hero.

Dr Trauma admitted that he envied the Cures of their kindness and power and it make Ruru into a better person. After the battle, Ruru decided to accept Dr Trauma however to take things one step at a time. Suddenly Emiru realised that Ruru is from the future which she will have to go back eventually and it got Emiru all in a frenzy...

Basically this episode is more of a exposition to get the final plot moving since we are probably left with ten more episodes. (Give and take) We now know that Hug-Tan is Cure Tomorrow and is the key to defeating Crisis and restoring the future. It is interesting to know that Cure Tomorrow has her own team in the future and hopefully we do get to see them who they are if the girls were to success.

Dr Trauma's reason for creating Ruru is kinda of expected from a mad scientist character and it hit him personally that he created Ruru to replace his probably dead daughter however Ruru was regard as a failure until she met Hana and Company.

Overall, a not bad episode but we are already spoil prior to this episode. Looking at how Emiru reacted about Ruru, she went all coco puffs in the next episode and she suddenly lost her voice before a performance. Until then, see you in the next post!

Hugtto Precure Ep 39 Top 3 Moments: Here's Mother!

Horray! Horray! This is my review of Hugtto Precure Ep 39 and Ristle transported the girls into the future!

No 3: This is the Future!?

The girls were relaxing at Harry's shop when they were all transported to a familiar place-Harry's hamster village in the future where many of Harry's hamsters friends welcome them. However something was not right and true enough it was Ristle who brought them here.

He send all the girls into one of Dr Trauma's traps leaving Harry and Hug-Tan. Ristle was full of contempt over Harry and the two fought each other. Hug-Tan used the Tambourine she was carrying to send a signal to the girls and they managed to escape Dr Trauma's trap.

No 2: The New Power! Minna de Tomorrow!

Before we get to the truth between Harry and Ristle, Cure Yell fought Ristle after he took Harry and Hug-Tan hostage. But Cure Yell's feelings awaken the White Mirai Crystal and out came the lady in yellow appeared which Ristle refered her as  "Mother"

The girls then added the White Mirai Crystal in the Mirai Clock which granted them wings and the new attack-Minna De Tomorrow. It hit Ristle and somehow he felt a sense of regret over the things he has done.

Cure Yell also saw a vision of a girl in a Precure suit telling her to protect the future before they were brought back to the present...

No 1: Harry and Ristle!

During the battle, Ristle blamed Harry for betraying their friendship and make him recall a terrible incident. Their fellow Hamsters including Bishin were suddenly struck by a strange disease which Ristle suggested to get Crisis to help them. Harry agreed and did Crisis's bidding.

However the rest of the hamsters were killed in a fire (which no one knew who did it) and Dr Trauma claimed this is how the future should be which trigger Harry's trauma. Ristle blamed Harry for everything and it was useless to try to change the future.

Of course, Cure Yell encouraged Harry not to give up as all of them have went through setbacks and overcome all odds to create miracles. Which probably why Cure Yell's motif is a Cheerleader that one should never underestimate the power of Cheering.

This episode is probably one of the darkest episodes after all the team-up we had weeks ago since we are at the final quarter of the season. Harry blamed himself for the death of his fellow hamsters although I looked that Ristle was the one who suggested to get help from Crisis. So Ristle is also to be blame but then he is blinded by Harry's betrayal since he choose the side of good with the mysterious Precure.

Speaking of that Precure..it is probably no brainier that Hug-Tan's true identify is the mysterious Precure that appeared in front of Cure Yell. But what cause her to revert into a baby and the lady in yellow which we now know as "Mother." What is her connection to all these?

The new power-Minna De Tomorrow is a more flashier version of their Cheerful Style with wings and I was expecting "Mother" to give a big hug to Ristle like in the opening credits as a finisher.

Did anyone notice that George is trolling with Ristle at the beginning and the end of the episode? Ristle gave George a blanket before leaving to deal with the girls and he swore his loyalty to George but after the battle, Ristle immediately curse George for ruining his life which George took it calmly and gave the blanket back to him. It's like George knew that this is going to happen and with the last Mirai Crystal appear, it is now a matter of time before George make his move again on the girls!

Before Harry could tell the girls what is going on, Dr Trauma appeared in front of them. (I am surprised he is still alive after being vaporised by the powers of every Cures and Cameos two episodes ago) He told Ruru that he is her father which Ruru reacted by knocking him down.

As the next episode preview will reveal Dr Trauma's secret about Ruru but will Ruru accept him after what he has done to them before? Until then, see you in the next post!
