Healin' Good Precure Ep 2 Review: Precure Partnership Disband?

Hi everyone! This is Episode 2 of Healin' Good Precure and it is Nodaka's first day at a new school!

Obey me, You Useless Humans!

Nodaka begged her parents to take in Latte (Latte used her puppy eyes to win over her parents) and the three fairies stayed in Nodoka's room.

Yes, Bend me, Shindoine Sama!

Meanwhile, Dairuzen reported about the Precures to his master, King Byogen and the other two generals, Shindoine and Guaiwaru who were surprised that the Precures who once defeated King Byogen has returned. King Byogen ordered his men to continue to pollute the land so that his body can be restored.

I like the interior of the Fairies homes.

The fairies then explained about their healing bags which act as their homes and about the Healing Garden and the Byogen who plotted to pollute the Earth. The next day, Nodoka prepare to go to school and the three fairies snuck into her bag as they are curious about school too.

Nodoka introduced herself to her new class and coincidentally Hinata and Chiyu are her classmates. After classes have ended, Hinata left first while Chiyu is heading for her track and field club. Nodoka was interested in her club but failed in every sport she took which disappointed Rabirin.

Nodoka admitted to Rabirin that she has never done sports in her whole life and she is out of shape. Rabirin immediately told her off that Nodoka should not be her Precure partner in the first place and flew in anger with Pegitan following her.

Chiyu went to talk to Nodoka about her fitness and Chiyu encouraged her to take things easy and focus just on her fitness first. Rabirin told Pegitan that she is worried that Nodoka might not be able to take it as a Precure due to her poor fitness and told off Nodoka. Pegitan realised that Rabirin is just concern about Nodoka after all.

Nodoka and Nyatoran returned home but the other two fairies are not around. Dairuzen created a Megabyogen from a Tree element spirit which weakens Latte. Nodoka and Nyatoran arrived to see the Megabyogen attacking the school. Nodoka tried to get the Megabyogen to trip over some net but failed at the attempt.

Rabirin who heard Latte's barks arrived and asked Nodoka why is she so determined to help despite her poor fitness. Nodoka explained that she was in hospitalized for a very long time and couldn't do anything. However, her parents and the doctors and nurses help her overcome her illness and she swore now to repay that kindness to help others in need.

Rabirin was touched by Nodoka's feelings and they transformed to Cure Grace. They managed to defeat the Megabyogen and restored the Tree Element spirit. After the battle, Latte was back to normal and everyone was preparing to go home when Chiyu saw what was going on...

We are introduced to the rest of the Byogen which included King Byogen and the other two generals- Shindoine and Guaiwaru. Shindoine is voiced by my favourite Seiyuu, Itou Shizuka (Akeno from High School DxD and Rindo from Shokugeki no Soma) and Guaiwaru is voiced by Yasumoto Hiroki (who voiced Sado from Bleach and Guile from Street Fighter series) If Shindoine starts saying "Ara Ara" in her lines, she will be my favourite general this season.

Of course, this episode is about Nodoka's reasons for helping others which is due to her being hospitalized for so long that everything that seemed normal for a 14-year-old person is considered new to her. Furthermore, she wants to repay the care and love given by the people who help her overcome her illness which explained her eagerness to help Rabirin and Latte in the first episode. (I probably going to guess that Nodoka might get too helpful and end up injuring herself in a future episode as the first rule of helping others is always make sure you are safe before helping others)

Rabirin isn't wrong for not wanting Nodoka to be her partner as being a trainee for the Healing Garden, she has a lot of responsibilities as she and the two other partners are the only hope to save their world and if Nodoka were to be seriously injured, Rabirin will feel guilty about it.

Overall, it is an expected episode of how Nodoka and Rabirin pour their feelings out and they become stronger partners in the end. So after Chiyu spotted Nodoka talking to cute spirits, she decided to probe further and of course, her feelings resonate with Pegitan and she becomes Cure Fontaine in the next episode. Until then, see you in the next post!

  1. This episode was a good one. At first I was really mad at Rabirin but after finding out her reason for wanting a new partner, it made sense. Im glad her and Nodoka were able to get back together. But I must say Pegitan was great this episode. Im already loving all the fairies and their personalities. Pegitan was the voice of reason for Rabirin and told her she was mean and needed to apologize. He is soo cute! I cant wait until next week to see the debut of Cure Fontaine
