Healin' Good Precure Ep 1 Review: Our Hands touch! Cure Grace is Born!

Hi everyone! This is the review of the first episode of Healin' Good Precure! Let's see the first Precure show for the Reiwa Era can make up for Star Twinkle's lacklustre plot!

We meet Hanadera Nodoka, our Pink Cure for this season as her family has moved to Sukoyaka City and Nodoka was excited to explore this new town.

Look like a Goddesses for this season...

No, Rabirin, You should find Kamen Rider Ex-Aid.

FUNNY!

At the same time in another dimension, the Healing Garden was corrupted by the Byogenzu with only one small portion of land left. Queen Tiatine ordered her remaining three fairies- Rabirin, Pegitan and Nyatoran to bring her daughter Princess Latte to escape to Earth and to find human partners who can become Precures. (Although they are not successful in their search when they arrived on Earth)

Nodoka began her exploring and bump into Hiramitsu Hinata and later Sawaizumi Chiyu respectively. Both were nice to her and Nodoka later took a rest at the nearby park. A Byogenzu General, Dairuzen created a Megabyogen by corrupting the Flower Element in the park and it started attacking the park.

Latte became weak due to the corruption and the fairies especially Rabirin tried to find someone who could help Latte. Nodoka saw Latte in pain and remembered how she was also hospitalized before and her parents were in pain to see her in a weak state.

Nodoka offered to help Latte and Rabirin's paws reacted to her feelings. She gave Nodoka the Healing Stick and an Element Bottle and together with Rabirin, they transformed into Cure Grace!

Laser Scope...Wrong Show...Cure Scan! (Kudos if you know where Laser Scope is from what show

Special Beam Cannon!!! (I had Dragonball Z Kakarot on my head now)

Odaijin!

Cure Grace was shocked by her appearance and even by her strength, she could do. Rabirin instructed to use the Cure Scan to search the Flower Element inside the Megabyogen and Cure Grace used her special attack- Precure Healing Flower to rescue the Flower Element and purify the Megabyogen.

What took you so long to realise that you are talking to talking animals?

Dairuzen retreated after that however Latte is still weakened. The Flower Element provide her energy into the Element bottle and gave it to Latte. Latte recovered and Nodoka now realized that she has been interacting with talking animals...

The Ending Sequence.

So is that Tambourine-like thing their first power up?

Love the Sakura Trees as the background.

Is Nodoka/Cure Grace a better character than Hikaru/Cure Star? I will say yes for now since Nodoka has an interesting back story as she once suffered an illness that left her hospitalized and when she finally recovered, she dedicated her life to helping others despite having a weak body. (Plus Aoki Yuki voicing her is a plus already for me)

Hinata is full of energy while Chiyu is a cool beauty. Let's hope they get good character development when they are introduced in the next few episodes. I really like the three fairies since they have different personalities- Rabirin is hyperactive, Pegitan is worrisome and Nyatoran is laidback. Latte is adorable like Puff from Go Princess. Only thing is she can only communicate through the stethoscope and unlike Fuwa who is basically a plot device.

Latte is somehow connected to the Earth's life force and seeing how a Megabyogen can create so much damage, Latte could die if too much damage is done on Earth. (So basically this season has an Environment message. All it needs is two more members added to the main three and let their powers to combine to form Captain Planet!)

Cure Grace's debut fight was very similar to many of the Pink Cures' debut fights like the jump into the sky, the crazy super strength and a smackdown to the monster of the week. I also like Precure Healing Flower looked like Piccolo's Makankosappo aka Special Beam Cannon that punched a hole through the Megabyogen and how it actually said "Goodbye" when it is being purified.

It even ended with Cure Grace and Rabirin with "Odaijini" or Get Well Soon like Go Princess's Gokigenyou. I also loved the transformation sequence that has a lab coat that Nodoka wore before she becomes Cure Grace which may be the three girls might have dreams related to the medical industry in the future. (Ex-Aid anyone?)

We also have Green and Orange Element Bottles...foreshadowing?

I heard people are shipping Cure Grace and Dairuzen after this scene...

Love how it represents the girls purified the land from corruption.

Dairuzen looked similar to Julio and Ira with his emo looks and it looked like we have two more generals to be introduced from the opening. (Doesn't look like they have a Heel turn Face character from the villain's side but anything can happen after the first quarter)

Did anyone think that Uchiyama Kouki could have play Dairuzen rather than Tamura Mutsumi since Uchiyama has an emo and laidback voice that somehow fit Dairuzen's character? Even I was expecting Kakuma Ai who voiced Rabirin could play a Cure too since she has voiced both cute girls (Mage from Bikini Warriors and Yuri from the King of Fighters 14 onwards) or cool girls. (Sento from Amagi Brilliant Park and Edelgard from Fire Emblem Three Houses)

CUTE!!!

Overall, the first episode layout the foundation for this season and how will the other two girls get acquainted with the other two fairies? However the next episode, Nodoka begins the first day of her new school and Rabirin has doubts about choosing Nodoka as her partner.

  1. tbh I'm also starting to ship Nodoka and Dairuzen because of that scene in the intro haha xD But I'll wait until we see more from those two. Would be the first time I've seen a villain/cure "romance" since Rikka and Ira in DokiDoki I think (but I only can remember those two and Honoka/Kiriya atm...)
I really liked this first episode. COuld be one season I'll watch as a whole after a while (I missed Mahou Tsukai, KiraKira and Star Twinkle with the exception of a fiew episodes) so I'd really enjoy it if it would be the case

I like the "Natural" colored look of all the characters as humans. It's not all flashy and bright but a little bit toned down. It's okay for the Cure-form to be all bright and stuff. But I like the "normal" look of the three heroines in their normal look
Let's see how this will turn out :)

  3. As a begining was nice. Too much mysteries about the dog queen and Latte. Also I like how Nodoka meet her future partners. It can be a good season.
