Healin' Good Precure Ep 12 Review: The Strong General, Batetemoda appears!

Hi everyone! This is Episode 12 of Healin' Good Precure and the Healing Animals decided to hold special training for the girls after their last battle.

Before we start the review, let's have a moment of silence for Japanese Seiyuu Fujiwara Kenji who recently left us on 12 April 2020. Although he only appeared as a guest villain -Count Salamander in the HeartCatch Movie and DX3 Movie, he is best known for many supporting and antagonist roles in many anime shows throughout his career. From Maes Hughes of FMA, Hiroshi Nohara of Crayon Shin Chan and dubbing for Robert Downey Jr in both Iron Man and the MCU films. We thank Fujiwara San for all the performances he gave in his every role. Rest in peace, "Ojisan!"

The Healing Animals suggested to the girls that they have special training after they barely overcame the previous battle with the Megabyogen and Nodoka immediately agreed to it with the other two follow suit.

Meanwhile, King Byogen introduced the generals to Batetemoda who immediately tried to suck up to the generals. He then proceeded to Earth to pollute the land. At the same time, the girls arrived at a quarry. (Why and how the girls are allowed to enter a quarry with no supervision around is anyone's guess)

Rabirin and Nyatoran tried to demonstrate to the girls that they need to work as a team by understanding each other strength and weakness however it failed badly and the girls at the end could not understand any of it. As they were taking a break, Rabirin was disappointed that they were unable to help the girls as they do not want them to go through another defeat from the previous battle. Pegitan and Nyatoran understand what Rabirin meant and they agreed to try to help the girls again.

When they came out of their Healing House, they saw the girls were having fun among themselves understanding each other better. Batetemoda was at the quarry and corrupted a Jewel Element Spirit into a Megabyogen.

The girls saw the Megabyogen and transformed. Batetemoda appeared and immediately started attacking them. He was surprisingly strong and knocked the girls to the ground. The girls knew they need to fight harder and managed to hit Batetemoda into the Megabyogen. The girls then finished off the Megabyogen with Precure Healing Oasis and saved the Jewel Element Spirit.

Batetemoda congrats the girls and said he likes to fight. Cure Grace was shocked by his answer and even revealed that he was created by the Giant Megabyogen from the previous episode and hope to fight the girls again.

After the battle, Nodoka and Chiyu remained optimistic since they got better in defeating the Megabyogen however Hinata has a sense of fear within her...

Although this episode is about the girls going for training which, to be honest, I don't see any significant training done by the girls other than they were just relaxing. The girls actually need more spiritual training since it is willpower that grants all Precures their strengths.

Especially we now have Batetemoda (who is voiced by Jesus Yamato- Hoshi Soichiro) who is what we need for this series. A full-on psychopath for our girls to take on as I felt the other three generals are just too "nice" as villains. Plus he has the strength to prove it since he can take on the girls with ease until they managed to overcome with teamwork. I hope to see more of Batetemoda's evil deeds so that when the girls or the fourth Precure (Yes, I am aware of the rumour) finally put an end to Batetemoda in the future, it will feel satisfying.

However, Hinata felt it for the first time how strong Batetemoda is and she needs to overcome her fear in the next episode as she felt like giving up her powers. Can the girls and Nyatoran help her to overcome it? Until then, stay safe and see you in the next episode!
