Azur Lane the Animation Ep 6 Review: A Slice of Life!

Hi Everyone! This is my Azur Lane Episode 6 Review and let's continue where we left off with the three starter destroyers!

Ayanami slapped off Laffey's hand and immediately retreated from the battlefield. A few days after the battle, Enterprise was again awakened by Belfast and the former decided to go to the mess hall for breakfast.

I always like Nevada's personality and her style of clothing...

Ark Royal spotted!

Enterprise started interacting with the other girls and even invited Belfast to join her for breakfast. (Since her plate was full of food) After breakfast, Enterprise and Belfast met Cleveland and she introduced her three younger sisters- Columbia, Montpelier and Denver to the two of them.

Enterprise later joined in a meeting about the Black Cube and Akashi explained what she saw with Akagi and the Siren. They deduce that the Sakura Empire were being deceived into going to war. Enterprise felt something from the Black Cube and she touched it and saw a person who looked similar to her but with a more sinister vibe.

Aren't they are the cutest things?

Belfast shook her out of her trance and decided to keep mum of what she saw. Back in the Sakura Empire, Akagi bought a blue hairpin for Kaga as a present and she treasures it. A group of young destroyers walked passed the pair and one of them, Uzuki knocked onto Kaga. Uzuki started crying as she is afraid of Kaga and the other destroyers tried to make peace with her. Akagi immediately steps in and even gave a bag of candies for the destroyers to be happy. Akagi commented that it will be nice if the little ones could stay forever as friends...

No matter where Akashi will set up shop!

So that's where all the skill books come from...

Back at Azur Lane, Akashi set up shop and the whole town was filled with a buzz. Enterprise felt strange watching them behaving like humans but Belfast reminded her again that there are more things than fighting for the ship girls. Belfast even joked that she could train Enterprise to be a maid if she wants to and she declined the offer.

Javelin was still pondering on what happened to Ayanami and Laffey cool her off with a water hose which Javelin playfully spray water back at her. The Royal Navy has created a large bathhouse for everyone and most of the girls went to take a bath.

I don't care how old Hood is, she is one fine Lady!

San Diego got SHOCKED!!!

Ark Royal spotted again with a nose bleed!

Unicorn looked worried but Laffey and Javelin dragged her into the bathhouse. The Cleveland sisters were impressed by the Royal Navy girls' assets and Cleveland asked Sheffield are all Royal Navy girls all the same however Sheffield replied no since she doesn't wear underwear at all and even showed it to the Cleveland sisters. (Which freak out Cleveland throughout the bath)

Javelin commented that Unicorn has big breasts that she started crying and claimed she looked strange since she is short and has big breasts. However, Laffey told her it is okay since everyone is different and that is normal. Unicorn accepted her explanation and played the other two girls. Illustrious was also glad that Unicorn can make friends...

Cleveland's hobby-Bonsai Plants?!

Long Island-The fun gamer!

Warspite wearing glasses? Cute!

Look, it's Sirius! (at the counter) She is the best maid after Belfast and a badass with a sword!

As the night went on and everyone was having some downtime, Javelin told Laffey and Unicorn that they will try to talk to Ayanami to be their friend and they agreed to. Enterprise who couldn't sleep looked at the ocean and Belfast offered her coffee with some wine to go with it.

Prinz Eugen interrupted Kaga's drinking and commented that one-sided love is very painful. Akagi was standing alone looking at the moon and saying that "I will meet you soon, Amagi Nee-San" as Ayanami also looked with conflict in her mind...

After having battles for the last 5 episodes, it is time for some downtime for the girls before we moved the plot although we do get some interesting development with some of the characters. The first was the vision that Enterprise saw and fans will know that the person is Code G aka Alter Enterprise which is basically a Dark version of Enterprise from another timeline. (Yes, there is some time travelling elements in the game) I am guessing we might get this plotline later in the series which the ship girls are fighting everywhere in the map to stop a full-scale invasion by the Sirens.

The next was how Akagi is shown to be a caring person especially to children but we all know that her mind is also conflicted to make a deal with the Sirens and I was right that she is using the Orochi system to revive her older sister Amagi which I am not going to spoil what happened to Amagi but I will like to see how it will be translated into the screen in the series and the reason for Akagi's hatred to Azur Lane. Kaga might also get the short end of the stick with Prinz Eugen's comments that Akagi might be using Kaga as a substitute for Amagi.

Of course, we have a bathing scene for this episode and it was fanservice galore if it wasn't for the ray of lights that are blocking the goods! (Look like we have to get the blu-ray version just to see this scene) Unicorn also overcomes her self-esteem with help from Laffey and Javelin and Illustrious' smile looked like how a mother will react when her child is having fun.

With this bathing scene check in the box list, we can get to the main plot as Azur Lane will need to figure out the technology of the Black Cube and to convince Red Axis that the Sirens are using them to go to war. Until then, see you in the next post!
