Hello everyone! This is my Idolmaster Cinderella Girls episode 9 review! Today is our new trio of idols, Anzu, Kanako and Chieri who formed Candy Island!
When Candy Island are invited for a game show, Anzu took it easy while Kanako studied hard and Chieri has butterflies in her stomach. Although Mio suggested to her to think everyone in the audience are frogs and even had Takeuchi dressed up in a frog costume.
However the show was more of physical and the girls were way behind the other idol group, KBYB. Although in the end, the final game was a quiz and thanks to Anzu's quick thinking, Kanako's learned knowledge and Chieri who turned the tables, Candy Island was able to tie with KBYB at the end. As a result, everyone played the pentaly game which is bungee jumping...
After nine episodes, we get to see Anzu in action and she is no pushover. All these while, she was acting as a sloth in the office. From running away from assignments to sleeping in a corner, I had my doubts on why Takeuchi wanted to hire her in the first place. But seeing her doing her best in the game show make me change my views about her. Chieri remind me of Yukiho from the original series without the shovel that she carried around. Her shyness is understandable since she has began her idol career now.
Thanks to Kanako's carefree attitude and Anzu is the brain, she was able to overcome her shyness and even won the winning points for the group. Kanako was pretty much herself in this episode so there was not much character development. Maybe another episode which focus on her "large frame" in the future?
Overall I give this episode a C plus. Candy Island was all right as a group since they balance each other very well. The only thumb down was our three main girls-Uzuki, Rin and Mio were reduced to sitting on the audiences throughout the entire episode. But it is expected since we still have five more girls to develop for this season. Furthermore it is announced that the show will take a three month break after April and will return in the summer for the second half. Until then, see you in the next post!
