Last week's episode was an example as it introduces a side character Masuko Michio which is a pun of the Japanese word Mass Communication/Masukomi. He was very aggressive in finding the connection between Nodoka and the Megabyogen which the girls tried all ways to protect Nodoka. But he came up as harmless and like every inspiring reporter in Precure, he now wants to write a story on the Precures.
Shindoine can shoot my Heart any time! |
This week's episode is about Chiyu and the pressure of doing well in the upcoming Spring Athletics meet. When she saw photos of her competitors for the meet, Chiyu suddenly loses concentration and unable to do the high jump properly.
The next day, Nodoka and Hinata joined Chiyu in her morning jog and learn that Chiyu was mesmerized by the blue sky and ocean making a beautiful scenery as a child which felt that she want to jump up and touch the sky. This is also what started Chiyu in becoming an athlete for the High Jump event.
The girls including Pegitan were impressed by her dreams and want to help her but Chiyu was still unable to overcome the high jump after many tries. Pegitan went through his books and suspected that Chiyu might have the Yips which cause her to mentally lose focus.
Never let Nyatoran handle spelling... |
Pegitan went to find the other two girls and mistaken them for abandoning Chiyu and went shopping. However, Nodoka and Hinata bought materials to make a banner to cheer Chiyu for the meet. (Although Nyatoran make a mistake on the spelling and they had to make with what they can to amend it on the actual day)
On the day of the meet, Chiyu was ready to make the High Jump but Daruizen created a Megabyogen from the Ice Element spirit and ruined the meet. The girls transformed to battle and the Megabyogen created an ice barrier over its body which prevented any frontal attacks.
Cure Fontaine saw an opening on top of the Megabyogen that was not covered by the ice and told the other two girls to distract it while she makes an amazing high jump over the Megabyogen. She then fired her Healing Stream and saved the spirit.
In return, the Ice Element Spirit gave an Ice Bottle to heal Latte. Although the sports meet was ruined and everyone has left, Chiyu decided to make an attempt on the High Jump and successfully conquer it. The girls cheered for her and she thanked them for hoping that one day she can reach the sky...
I am actually glad that they didn't give the same character plot for Chiyu like Minami of having a similar occupation that dealt with water. But instead, Chiyu is just inspired by the scenery of both the Ocean and the Sky as one. She used this inspiration and choose to be a High Jump Athlete.
It also shows that Chiyu has her bad days as her peers have regarded her as Miss Perfect.
Furthermore, the girls are only human and it can happen to anyone. It was also nice to see Pegitan who showed sincere concern for her despite Chiyu putting up a strong front. Nodoka and Hinata knew they couldn't do much to help Chiyu but decided to support her by cheering her in the meet.
The battle was much better than last week as it also gave Cure Fontaine a chance to overcome her slump by finding an opening of the Megabyogen. (Literally) The Ice Bottle was also given to the girls by the Ice Element Spirit and hopefully, it will do something interesting, unlike the Harvest Bottle which fired a blast that is too weak and less exciting.
Next week, Hinata took the lead in giving the girls makeover at the mall! What could go wrong? (Other than a Megabyogen attacking them in the mall for the second time!) Until then, everyone stays safe and see you in the next post!
