Star Twinkle Precure Ep 9 Review: Nobody's Perfect!

Kirayaba! This is my review of Star Twinkle Precure Ep 9 and Madoka felt the pressure of being the Perfect Daughter and a Precure!

Foreshadowing?

The Good: I actually like how Madoka could feel the pressure of living up to her parents and peers' ideals that it could result in a nervous breakdown. I wonder how her fellow Ojousama Cures like Minami, Alice and Karen actually balance their school life and Precure life together?

Elena's Seiyuu Yasuno Kiyono spoke Pretty Good English! 

Wow, the Doll could eat!? (Elena's siblings were amazed by it!)

Let's hope the kids don't blurt it out!

Anyway, after learning that Madoka has never visited the local shopping district, Hikaru and Lala decided to take her there and have a fun time together. Madoka actually feel relieved being with them and even Elena later commented that Hikaru may behave childish and clumsy at time but she could sense people's emotions and anxiety like how she took Lala to clear her mind after messing up the spaceship's repairs. Elena also want Madoka to speak out her mind especially when she felt troubled as they are all her friends/comrades.

We also get to see Madoka being distracted and stressed since she has to keep her Precure identify from her father who is still tracking down Lala, Prunce and Fuwa. Her hectic schedule after school which she mess up during classes and her Chairman meeting. So the girls taking Madoka out to town was a good break for her and clear her mind especially later in the fight with Sakurako's Notrigger.

This look really Satanic for a moment but also Bad Ass!

The girls actually have some teamwork battling the Notrigger and Cure Selene used the newly recovered Capricorn Princess Star pen to create the Power up Selene Arrow (With the head of a Capricorn in the middle of her bow!?) and saved Sakurako.

The Bad: Not much since it is a pretty standard Precure episode with one Cure having the problem of the week and ended with a monster of the week. In seriousness, so what happened once there is no more Star pens to make new Notriggers? One more question, how did Aiwan managed to find two pens in the span of two episodes?

Prune, are you crying because of the girls or the donut?

Overall, with the revival of the Capricorn Princess, that left with eight more princesses! I like how Madoka is probably the most related now since it is a real life problem among young people of working up the perfect image of being looked up to and the pressure that come with it. I also like how Elena's line to Madoka of not bottling up your emotions and telling someone your problem is a good advice to anyone who need help.

Next episode, the girls blast off to space again and to the Southern Dipper! As it already suggested the girls will get their first power-up item in the next two episodes! Until then, see you in the next post!
 

Star Twinkle Precure Ep 8 Review: It's Raining Bones!

Kirayaba! This is my review of Star Twinkle Precure Ep 8 and the girls arrived on a bone shaped planet to find the Libra Princess Star Pen!

The Good: I like that the series has moved to another environment (This case, outer space) and interact with the natives of the Planet Kennel. (Similar to Kyuranger)

It was also quite of surprised that the 3 natives of Planet Kennel-Doggy, Maggy and Neggy took pride of who they were and commented that Earthlings are nothing special. (Actually I felt that they were prejudiced against Hikaru and company since they are not covered in fur like the natives)

Elena is the nice one in this episode and she offered her friendship to Doggy. They later learn that the Libra Princess Star Pen is being worshipped by them claiming it was a  "Gift" from the sky. Prune insisted of getting it out and when Kappard also arrived to steal it, Doggy immediately accused them of being thieves.

Elena tried to explain why they need the Star Pen however was shunned off by Doggy. It was only after Cure Soleil/Elena protected it from Kappard that Doggy pulled out the Star Pena and Cure Soleil used it to defeat Kappard.

Of course, the Libra Star Princess was revived and she even play dumb to Prunce who was covered in fur. (After using a bottle of instant hair growth earlier) In the end, everything went well and Doggy and Elena formed a new friendship...

The Bad: Most of you might agreed that the fighting was one sided since the girls took care of Kappard and his minions easily plus Cure Soleil using the new Libra Soleil Shoot was a push over and the bad guys were blasted off again (Literally!)

Overall, the plot is moving forward since the girls found the Libra Princess Star Pen and hopefully we get to see more interesting planets. I like how Prunce causally commented that there is a planet that rained diamonds (Take me to that Planet) after they were taking shelter from a bone shower.

But the fighting is still one sided and hopefully that is not the case in every episode since Aiwan is the only one so far that can corrupt the Star Pens. But we have not reached the first quarter of the series since that is reserved for major story lines arc so it is still too early to tell.

Next episode is about Madoka and her conflicts with her father and probably herself. The answer to her problem? Donuts!? Until then, see you in the next post! 

Star Twinkle Precure Ep 7 Review: Blasting off to Space!

Kirayaba! This is my review of Star Twinkle Precure Ep 7 as the girls tried to fix Lala's spaceship!

The girls decided to get Lala's spaceship fixed and the AI scanned the girls to see what they are suitable for. Lala is good at fixing, Elena for her physical and Madoka for her supervisor. However when it come to Hikaru, she got cleaning duties!

The girls realised it was getting mundane in fixing the spaceship after four hours and it was then Hikaru was actually designing to make the spaceship more "cuter" and with Elena knowing what she want, the rest of the girls chipped in and even design personal rooms in the spaceship.

The AI was unable to compete in Hikaru's thinking but suggested that Hikaru is the mood maker that got everyone more motivated in getting things done.

Soon, the spaceship was ready but Tengu and her men arrived to cause trouble. (Seriously, the girls should just move somewhere less conspicuous so that the Knot Raiders is unable to track them) I do realise that if the episode's fight is between the foot soldiers, it is definitely one-sided since they pose little threat to the girls.

After Tengu retreated, the girls saw the interior of their newly remodelled spaceship. Prunce even presented his latest invention which is donuts making machine. However it still need work after taking a bite on it.

The girls prepare to blast off into space and Lala started the countdown and sure enough, they are in space and enjoying the moment. Suddenly Elena's pendent started flashing to the Libra symbol and Fuwa warp the spaceship to the Star Scape System!

I felt this episode is more of showing each girl's strength like Lala is good at fixing things, Elena is in charge of the heavy stuff (Seriously,where she find all the supply from?) and Madoka who is already the student chairman was supervising the work. When it come to Hikaru, she might not have the talent or strength like her comrades but she make it up with her positive attitude which got the girls to be more motivated in remodelling the spaceship and quote from Lala "Cuter" in the sense!

As I said before, the foot soldiers were more of a hindrance to the girls rather than a threat which worried me about the future of the series. Since we have ten more Star Princesses to locate, what happened after that? How will the Knot Raiders going to battle the girls if they only have foot soldiers to throw at them unless a game changer will to be presented to even the odds.

At the end of the episode, the girls are now back in the Star Scape System and Elena's pendant is hinting the Libra Princess location! As seen in the preview, they landed in a bone shaped planet and the Libra Princess Star Pen is being worshipped by the natives! Until then, see you in the next post!
