Go Princess Precure Ep 15 Top 3 Moments and Review: Butler For a Day!

Gokigenyou! This is my review of Go Princess Precure episode 15 and today Aroma get to be a Butler for a Day!

No 3: Lesson Fairy Power!

Even in bondages, Puff still retain her hyperactive side!

After learning that Aroma is working to be a Butler for Kanata, Shamour granted him and Puff to be humans for a day. The result-A funny start in the morning with both Haruka and Yui mistaken Aroma as an intruder in their room and had Kisaragi bringing brooms and sticks to find the intruder. Puff on the other hand was discovered by Shirogane and the girls lied to her that Puff is an intern learning to be a maid.

No 2:  Aroma get to be Haruka's Butler for a day!

A Tea Party or a Picnic?

Aroma wanted to be the best Butler and planned a schedule for Haruka to follow. However he was not flexible in his schedule which troubled Haruka. Although she didn't mind, Shamour told him later that he is not considering his master's feelings and is only satisfiying himself.

Of course, this pissed Aroma and he ran off. He was nearly hit by a lorry when a real butler saved him. The butler was very professional to his old mistress' needs which Aroma realised what was the problem with his actions.

No 1: Lock was granted a power boost by Twilight and Aroma's determination towards Haruka.

The Red Carpet treatment

It seems that Lock is trying to suck up to Twilight by giving her the red carpet treatment. In return, they went to Earth and turned the butler earlier into a Zetsuborg. Cure Flora tried to take on the Zetsuborg on her own but was caught in a trap.

Twilight mocked Aroma as he ran away and calling him a coward. However Cure Flora believed in him and knew that Cure Mermaid and Cure Twinkle will come to aid her (Which they did) and they saved the day!

At the end of the episode, Shamour commented to Aroma that he has taken a first step into becoming a butler finally. However Haruka had to boast that she will become a Grand Princess in return Aroma started teasing her instead...

Overall, I gave this episode a C plus as this is an Aroma episode and to be honest, Aroma played the typical brash and impatient young boy in every Precure season which nobody like him at first but became tolerable at the end. He seem to be determined to become a butler but lack the understanding of what a butler should be-To understand his master's needs. Instead he became a bit of a control freak and took Haruka on a crazy adventure throughout town.

 I actually preferred to have Puff be the main focus since she is always in a positive manner. (Although I am wondering if Puff has been eating too much sugar since she keep laughing and running around like some hyperactive kid?)

Lock sucking up to Twilight could mean he is interested on how powerful he can get after gaining her power up boost which you can tell in this episode, Cure Flora had problems defeating the Zetsuborg. Although to be fair, the Zetsuborg is a Butler type so it is kinda of troublesome for the girls to handle such types alone. (You could tell that Shut is totally jealous about Lock's actions so who do you think is going to bite the dust first later in the season?)

Next episode, the girls went to a resort for some sun, sand and sea. Over there, Minami met her older brother and an old dolphin friend of her. Until then, see you next week!

Dragonball Z: Revival of F Movie Review

Hello everyone! I just came back watching Dragonball Z: Revival of F the movie and here is my thoughts about it!

For many teens who grew up during the 90s, Dragonball Z was the turning point in Japanese Animation. Everyone around the world knew what Dragonball is all about and we will never be the same again.

So two years ago when a new full length Dragonball Z movie (Battle of the Gods) was showed on the big screen after more than twenty years, fans rejoice to see the continuing adventures of Son Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta and the rest of the Dragonball characters. Personally after watching that movie, I had mixed feelings about it which I will explain later in this review.

(Basically Battle of the Gods is like the Fellowship of the Ring and Revival of F is the Two Towers.)

Synopsis: Years after Goku and Trunks killed off Freiza, his remnants went to Earth and used the Dragonballs to revive him. With revenge on his mind, he went to train and four months later, Freiza returned stronger than before and lead his armies to invade Earth. Can Goku and Vegeta who are training with Berrus and Whis return in time to defeat Freeza and save the Earth?

A little known fact-Akira Toriyama had originally wanted Freiza to be the final villain for the Dragonball manga and his original story will have Freiza coming to Earth and started killing off Goku's friends and Goku will battle Freiza to the death. Unfortunately due to the popularity of the series, the idea was scrapped in favor for the Androids and Cell Saga.

So now Akira's original idea is sort of adapted into the big screen but many changes had to be make due to most of the Dragonball characters are stronger than before. One reason I didn't like the previous movie was the pacing and the lack of a real villain. I didn't like Trunks' little crush with Mai and how Vegeta behave like a total idiot for most of the time. Berrus is a very laid back god who care nothing except fighting and eating. (Basically he is another Goku)

When Freiza is introduced for this movie, I was happy that he is the main villain. Sure, Cell and Buu could do more damages together but their personalities are not interesting. Freiza played the textbook version of a true evil villain who won't blink an eye when killing off his enemies or even his men. (Which he did it so many times in this movie)

Another good thing this movie learned from the previous one was the amount of unnecessary cameos and sub plots. This time, the cast is a smaller one but you feel the intensity between the good guys as they faced impossible odds. One interesting thing is that the movie introduce Jaco the Galactic Patrolman-Akira Toriyama's latest work in recent years and yes, his story in the manga took place years before the original Dragonball series. He was a pretty fun character who spoke logically but know when not to take unnecessary risks especially the scenes with Freiza's armies which is one of the best scenes in the movies.

The animation of course is on par with the previous movie and being a 94 minutes movie, the transformation of Goku, Gohan, Vegata and Freiza didn't take forever like in the original TV series. The action sequences were great with everyone including Krillin, Ten Shin Han and even Master Roshi kicking ass. There were even some humors to ease off the tension which was perfect. Goku's battle with Freiza was the main highlight and it didn't disappointed me since it is a rematch from the original series. If you have seen the trailer then you know that Goku and Freiza got a new form which I won't spoil it if you don't want to know how they look like.

I will want to give this movie a full five stars but if I have one grip, it was the ending.

Highlight to read spoilers

Vegeta took over Goku to battle Freiza after he got shot in the chest. Vegeta became Super Saiyan God and overwhelm Freiza. However, Freiza was a sore loser and destroy the Earth, killing everyone except the characters (minus Vegeta) in the fight which Whis used a protection bubble to save them. Whis then mentioned he has the power to go back three minutes in time and Goku used that chance to finish off Freiza immediately. 


Overall, it is a pretty enjoyable movie and I am suspecting the way things ended, we will probably get one more movie to complete the trilogy and seeing how we are getting a new TV series-Dragonball Super this July, fans around the world are more than ready to have new Dragonball contents for the next few years!

Final Verdict: 4 out of 5 stars if you are a Dragonball fan!

P.S: There is a very funny Easter egg when Krillin first make his appearance in the movie which I giggle when it happened. Shouen Jump fans will know what it is.

Go Princess Precure Ep 14 Top 3 Moments and Review: Family Ties

Gokigenyou! This is my review of Go Princess Precure episode 14 and it is Family Day at Nobel Academy!

IT'S FAMILY DAY!!!

No 3: Haruka's family come to visit her on Family Day.

Haruka Doriyaki-I wonder will the Precure Store in Japan will make a real one?

I really giggle when Haruka's father Ibuki rushed to hug her when they arrived at the front entrance. Her father was really like an overprotective father. Although I like his friendliness when he started giving his self made Doriyaki to everyone in school. (The Doriyaki all had a face of Haruka imprinted on it) Even Yui claimed it was delicious and it make Haruka all embarrassed. (Fun fact that Ibuki is voiced by Matsumoto Yasunori who also did Nobita's father in Doraemon who also like Doriyaki.)

No 2: Meet Haruka's younger sister, Momoka.

Momoka and Haruka's relationship is the spotlight for this episode since she was very unhappy to see her again. After several attempts to make her at home, Momoka suddenly lashed out at Haruka and her friends which got Haruka to reprimand her. Momoka ran away and dropped her gift to Haruka.

Later, Kirara found her at the beach and she learned that Momoka felt betrayed that Haruka had left her but Kirara consoled her that her own mother was unable to come due to her work. Kirara might felt sad but she still love her mother and support her dreams as a super model. Even Minami gave a pep talk to Haruka about her older brother went to study at Nobel Academy and she was sad at first. But she soon got over it and started supporting her brother.

No 1: Twilight turned Haruka's family into a Zetsuborg and Cure Flora is pissed!

As expected, Twilight gave Shut a power up to turn Haruka's family into a Zetsuborg. When they were fighting, Momoka's gift came out which is a tiara for Haruka. Cure Flora was really angry and actually became stronger against the Zetsuborg which surprised Twilight too.

Even through the girls defeated the Zetsuborg and saved Haruka's family, I am sensing that Cure Flora and Twilight's rivalry will escalated further since Twilight was aiming for her family which is expected for a manipulative villain. (Until Twilight redeemed herself in a future episode)

Overall, I gave this episode a B plus. It was fun to see Haruka's family interacting with everyone and their dreams was hoping to see Haruka as a real princess before turning into a Zetsuborg. In the aftermath, Haruka wore the Tiara made by Momoka during her ballet performance and she cheered for Haruka after the performance. (Momoka's seiyu is actually Matsura Ayu who did the young girl in Usagi Drops a few years ago. I know she is not really a professional seiyuu though it is probably Toei's decision to hire a cheaper person since we had already quite a number of good and veteran seiyuu in the show.)

Puff looked like Chibi Usa! (Cute!)

Go Princess Precure Ep 13 Top 3 Moments and Review: Melody of the Twilight Princess

Gokigenyou! This is my review of Go Princess Precure episode 13 and it is the beginning of the Dark Princess Twilight Arc!

No 3: Haruka trying to learn to play the Violin.

After seeing a masked violist playing in front of her, Haruka decided to learn to play the violin. Minami brought her to see her violin instructor, Nishikido who owned a violin house. Haruka was allowed to choose a violin to practice (which happened to be Nishikido's first hand made violin) and asked Shamour to teach her. Minami and Kirara could played the violin well but Haruka's first try was so bad that it knocked Shamour off stage. (Just like Giant from Doraemon with his horrible singing voice!)

No 2: Haruka's encounter with the masked violist.

Haruka meet the masked violist again and even taught her how to play the violin (with evil intentions) Everyone went to take a look at her and no one could recognise her however Puff could sense an evil aura from the violist. (Actually it is no brainier for the viewers since the opening already spoil the suspense of who she is) Did anyone had a yuri moment when the masked violist went behind Haruka's back to guide her on the violin?

No 1: Meet Princess Twilight, Daughter of Dyspear!

As expected, the masked violist is Dyspear's daughter, Twilight and she appeared in front of the girls together with Shut. Twilight has her own Dress Up key which she used it to increase Shut's powers. Shut turned Nishikido into a Red Zetsuborg with more power than before. Although in the end, the girls defeated the Red Zetsuborg but Twilight claimed the Precures are not real princesses and she will defeat them eventually.

So we begin the long running arc (hopefully not) of Twilight becoming the rival to Cure Flora and how their ideals will conflicted each other in future episode. Her appearance was typical for an evil princess of darkness and the blue flames keep reminding me of Ao no Exorcist. (Blue Flames are usually used by the Devil himself so yeah, evil!)

Twilight is voiced by Miss Versatile, Sawashiro Miyuki who has probably played every kind of roles in anime-From young boys to handsome teens, good and bad girls roles even crazy, psychotic ones. So here as Twilight was a perfect match for her as her presence already make Shut fall in love with her. Who is going to think that in the future, Shut will do something crazy to win her heart or rather Twilight make use him to defeat the Precures?

There are some theories going around that Twilight and Kanata are siblings and Dyspear might be their mother who got turned to evil by some unknown force. Didn't we see that in Doki Doki and Suite? Hope Toei try something original since Go Princess Precure has been an interesting ride than Happiness Charge and Doki Doki. Overall, I give this episode a B plus since we have not know the full extent of Twilight's power but she is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

So Haruka's rivalry with Twilight continue in the next episode as the school is having a family day and Haruka's family has come to visit her. However Haruka's younger sister was not happy to see her again. Find out more in the next episode! Until then, Gokigenyou!

Marvel Disk Wars Avengers Full Series Review and Final Thoughts (Minor Spoliers)

Hi everyone! I have been very busy lately so I don't have time to review shows like Dog Days Season 3, Cinderella Girls and even Marvel Disk Wars Avengers due to my personal work life. I don't even have time to go through all the Spring shows that are out already. (Hopefully I can go through them eventually)

Anyway, here is my final review and thoughts of Marvel Disk Wars Avengers that ended last March.

If you are still living under a rock all these while, here is a short summary of the show-Tony Stark/Iron Man has created a new device named DISK that is able to hold any objects including humans for an indefinite period of time. He worked with Professor Akatsuki Nozomu from Japan and he invited his two sons, Akira and Hikaru to America to witness the unraveling of DISK. However Loki has send a lackey, Tim to steal the device and released many of the Super Villans from their prison.

In the chaos, the Avengers and many of the Marvel Super Heroes were captured into the DISK. But thanks to Spiderman, he managed to recover five of the disks and Akira, Hikaru and three more kids-Chris, Ed and Jessica were given the power to use the DISK. So the search begin to find the missing heroes and villains all over the world...

I love both Marvel and DC comics in general and I always look forward to how different interpretation of both heroes and villains will be from a different writer and artist will do. So when Toei animation and Marvel Comics team up to do this show, I was thinking will it have the same feel from the Madhouse's Marvel series?

But after reading the plot, it is clearly a show for kids and some might claimed it is ripping off Digimon and Pokemon. However instead of just focusing on the five main Avengers-Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and Wasp (Not Black Widow) Toei was allowed to use any characters from the Marvel Universe (Except for the Fantastic Four which is odd) and they really brought on some B-list and even C-list characters into the series.

The show also doesn't take itself too seriously and the kids are not stupid to know what is right and wrong (Except for Akira) which I really dislike him despite being the series leading kid. But there is a reason why it was done this way. Iron Man is the smart ass show off like his movie counterpart and a bit of hot head which played with Akira's curious nature and playfulness. On many occasions, they couldn't get along but once they do, their partnership was great. Furthermore, Tony actually felt responsible for causing Akira and Hikaru to loss their father not once but twice! So in a way, he is making up to the two brothers like a surrogate father.

Hikaru is the overprotective older brother which mirror Thor's issues with Loki for having an irresponsible sibling. Chris and Captain America couldn't get along at first due to Cap fearing of losing another partner like Bucky but in the end, they came to a compromise and several occasions, Chris actually save Cap's life. Ed and Hulk are the odd couple however Hulk see a bit of his alter ego on Ed since he is such a weakling but in the end, they came out to be the best partners among the five kids. Jessica and Wasp are two peas of a kind so not much to say about them.

The best part of the show are the episodes when Akira and Iron Man are not the focus of the episodes. Seriously, Akira was annoying at hell and keep shouting Tony's name every time he is in trouble. Iron Man himself is arrogant, cocky and sometime get ahead of himself. The only time he is good is when he is quietly building some device in his lab and Pepper keeping a lash on him.

Only in this universe where the Mandrain and Silver Samurai actually come and bail Iron Man's ass!

I am seeing that Marvel and Toei also agreed on some terms when doing the episodes. Like when Guardians of the Galaxy the movie was aired in Japan, the show actually introduced them in a two parter and together with the Avengers, they battled Ronan the Accuser and Fin Fang Foom. People complained that the Avengers never worked with the X-Men in the America series but here they did and Magneto was a bad ass smashing Sentinels Robots like paper. They even did their version of Age of Ultron with Hank Pym saving the day. (Yes, it is Hank Pym not Tony who created Ultron for all you newbies!)

Spidey and Blade working together? Make that a Movie!

Even Blade and Deadpool who are considered Anti heroes appeared and they were a lot of fun. Blade was killing vampires like a bad ass and Deadpool bring in his signature Fourth Wall jokes into the episode. Spidey was also awesome for the first arc of the series which he helped the kids in getting the Avengers together and we even had a Venom episode (Although it is actually Hulk who got possessed by the Symboite) Even future Marvel movie characters like Dr Strange, Black Partner, Iron Fist and Luke Cage were promoted in the show and they were a lot of fun.

The main villains were Loki and his cronies-The Celebrity Five who are a group of people who can called out villains to do their biding. Of course, we had villains like MODOK, Green Goblin, Baron Zemo and they even have Destroyers (which I find them to be pretty weak compared to the movies) Even Red Skull and Crossbones also appeared in the second arc and they make up to pretty good villains and the team up of all the heroes battling them was epic!

But the show also suffered some flaws especially the graphic department. Toei is not really the best in doing long term shows and you can tell some of the characters actually look horrible and action scenes was kept to a minimum for some episodes. Some of the characters also looked funny like Captain America looked like Mega Man Star Force, Iron Fist is a Red Indian Chief, Black Widow looked like a Barbie doll. The weblines in Spidey's costume were circular instead of curves and the Lizard looked like Lizard man from Soul Caliber.

The final arc which is Loki mind controlling Nozomu into becoming Ronin and in cahoots with Dormammu was pretty typical Super Villains plot. Loki double cross Dormammu to gain his powers which you can see it a mile away and he went totally insane on the heroes. But of course thanks to the power of Friendship, Teamwork and the usual Anime yelling, the heroes saved the day with Loki trapped in a DISK for the rest of his life. (Hahaha!)

Overall, the show is a pretty good one if you get over the usual anime moments and accept it as a retelling of the Marvel Universe in anime form, you will enjoy it. Especially when the characters don't behave like idiots like those from Avengers Assemble which I really dislike it. The whole show is full of Fanservice and if Toei wanted to make a sequel (provided the sales of the DISK toys are good which I doubt it) make more heroes and villains and please don't make Loki as the Big Bad since he is really overrated at this point.

The Power of Friendship, Teamwork and Anime Cliques!

Final Verdict: Good for your collection. Just watch the best episodes and you will be fine!
