Kira Kira Precure Ala Mode Ep 38 Review: Little Pekorin's Adventure!

Let's Cooking! This is my review of Kira Kira Precure episode 38 and Pekorin got turned into a human child!

The Good: Despite a simple premise, I actually enjoyed the moments with Pekorin as she goes shopping on her own and making donuts for everyone. The way how the girls watched her afar hoping she won't get into trouble was very nice. It remind me of those old Japanese variety shows where a young child run an errand and hidden cameras follow the child throughout the journey.

Pekorin herself took responsibility as she press herself forward to finish her grocery list. Once a while, she make a little baby smile and was polite to everyone. Losing her pouch was very sad like how a real child will behave and the reward of being helpful was paid off when she got back her pouch from the baby's mother.

Sure, Pekorin lost her ability to become human after using all her Kiraru energy to aid the girls during the battle with Grave and his Diablemobile. (That's what I am calling it) But Pekorin was not disappointed and continue to work hard along with the girls.

The Bad: Grave and his Diablemobile was a threat at first but somehow Pekorin's aid gave the girls some magic rings to bind Grave and still he was defeated by the girls' Animal Go-round attack. So turning Diable into a car didn't really do much help for now...

The other bad thing-where is Bibury? You think that Pekorin becoming a human wouldn't make her heart skip? I mean Bibury was pretty nice to Pekorin when she offered her food to share before. Bibury seeing a child Pekorin will make her adopt her immediately like a pet.

Overall, a good episode and seeing that Pikario's hand was moving in his coma state indicate a sign he will be back soon. Unfortunately, we have to wait for 2 weeks for the next episode and it looked  like a zombie invasion in Ichigo town!? Until then, see you in the next post!

Kira Kira Precure Ala Mode Ep 37 Review: Onwards! To Paris! (Movie Prequel Episode)

Let's Cooking! This is my review of Kira Kira Precure episode 37 and a former boss of Ciel came to take her back to Paris!

The Good: Bibury was fun to watch especially when she gave that cocky attitude when Ciel's former boss, Solène came to inspect Ciel's cafe. Bibury even gave that "encouraging" speech to Ciel when she is conflicted in whether to return to Paris. It also make Bibury went all Tsundere after Ciel thank her. (Cute!)

Furthermore, this episode also act as a mini-prequel to the upcoming movie as it introduce the movie character Jean in a flashback and the conclusion of the episode was the girls went to Paris to help Ciel in the competition.

The Bad: The main plot itself is nothing new since we have seen it in so many shows especially Precure of how one character got an offering to chase her dream but because of her commitment to her friends, she can't go and the others questioned themselves are they holding that person back.

Of course, everything goes well in the end and Ciel managed to convince Solène to stay in Japan for the time being. Although one plot hole which I am not sure anyone notice, Solène mentioned she finally found Ciel after searching her for a long time but then didn't way back, Ciel mentioned she came to Japan in the media and her cafe was also publicized? So what took Solène so long to find? Is Paris and Japan that far (which is not!) that it took Solène almost 3 months to find her? But then this is anime where space and time has no relativity...

To be fair, Team Kira Kira is not a pushover in terms of strength but Toei has to please those parents' complaints...

The battle with Elsio was really shoe honed at the last minute which I find no rhythm or reason to have it since there was no real danger or even Solène to get drained of Kiraru energy. Grave finally controlling Diable was revealed at the end which to be honest, I hope Grave and Elsio will get what they deserve from Diable or even Noir when their time come because I felt no attachment to them at all.

Overall, this episode was predictable except Bibury's cocky attitude which was refreshing. Other than that, nothing else to say except go and watch the Movie when it come up but I can't. Next week, Pekorin got turned into a human child and the girls decided to observe her from afar hoping she will not get into trouble. Until then, see you in the next post!

Kira Kira Precure Ala Mode Ep 36 Review: Fever Time!

Let's Cooking! This is my review of Kira Kira Precure episode 36 and it is the Ichigo town sports meet!

The Good: I actually enjoy the sport meets even though Akira dominated about 90 percent of the events. How Akira felt like part of a community since she is staying with her grandmother while Miku is in the hospital. She even mentioned that the little moments every day like seeing Ichika and her father daily squabbles is more to keep her going.

Of course, Akira caught a fever from Miku which fortunately it was discovered early since Akira's Crystal animal was feeling the same way. Ichika who was the forward one immediately get Akira to rest while she filled in the rest of the competition.

The ending of course ended with Ichika getting a cold now with Akira taking care of her..Miku's fever is really contagious...(No offence, Miku)

The Bad: Diable is up there for worst Precure villain in the running since turning a humanoid was completely useless. I was expecting him to last for one or two episodes in this humanoid form but instead, the girls who initially were affected by his petrified powers, overcome it by willpower and totally destroyed Diable.

Leaving Diable in a weaken state and Grave decided to steal his powers for his own. Really Toei? Diable who is like a feared creature that nearly destroyed Ichigo Town in the past is now reduced to a sitting duck by six girls who used whip cream on you? Maybe I might be wrong and Diable might come back more powerful than before but I am not getting my hopes up.

Overall, it was an all right episode which despite the title episode is about Akira and Ichika, it is more of Akira's own thoughts with the people she interacts and Ichika is just there for moral support. Next episode, Ciel's former boss from France has come to see her and it looked like she want Ciel to return to France! Until then, see you in the next post!

P.S: Yes, I am aware of the 2018 Precure title named "Hugtto Precure." It could be a play of words since Hugto sounds like Heart or than Hug. But looking how the title is shaped, it looked like a primary colors team again but I could be wrong. But importantly is the theme since Toei is clearly not knowing the primary theme and focus of Kira Kira Precure and is probably writing on the fly.

Hopefully 2018 will be better but then how many times we are disappointed after Go Princess. Although I got a feeling that Aoki Yuki or Hanazawa Kana might be in the next Precure series since most guest seiyuus in Precure movies usually ended up in a regular series one or two seasons later.

Kira Kira Precure Ala Mode Ep 35 Review: Believe in your Passion!

Let's Cooking! This is my review of Kira Kira Precure episode 35 and Himari felt uneasy when Aoi invited her to her Family Social Party Gathering.

The Good: Both Aoi and Himari had their moments in this episode. Himari was feeling anxiety among all the well-to-do guests at Aoi's party in the beginning. Although why Himari couldn't wear something more appropriate for the party is up for debate. Of course some of the guests are jerks like the two men who approach Himari due to being Aoi's friend but shunned her after Himari explained she is a commoner.

Himari stood up for Aoi after the guests insulted her being a band singer and working in a paterisse (But it is also due to Diable's influences) as Aoi believed in what her passion lies in. Later when Diable caught hold of Cure Custard, Cure Gelato returned the favor that Himari love what she does and somehow it caught Diable off guard.

The Bad: The fight with Diable is still not interesting. I mean he is technically a wolf so how hard can it be for six Super Powered girls to take down a Supernatural wolf?

Overall, Aoi and Himari showed they care for one other despite coming from different backgrounds. But then again, Aoi is not your typical Ojou Sama and seriously Himari, get your act together!Didn't Dr Sweet from episode 28 told you to trust your feelings?

Next episode, it is the Town Sports Festival and everyone is competing with each other but somehow Ichika and Akira are pairing with each other?! Until then, see you in the next post!

P.S: Guys and Gals, I am sure from the last few posts about Kira Kira Precure, you can tell that I am just going with the flow in posting reviews every week since to be honest, this season has been a downhill for me. Unless something worth mentioning happened in the last quarter of the series, this will be the status quo for Kira Kira Precure for now.

I will really want to do other shows reviews like King of Fighters Destiny which I will do a review once I have enough episodes to review or the recently aired Infini-T Force which is the gathering of the Big Four Tatsunoko Heroes and I haven't had this fun watching Super heroes in action for quite a while.

Yes, I am also aware that in the one hour special of Dragonball Super that was aired on 8th Oct that Goku has reached a new form that is reminiscing when Goku became Super Saiyan for the first time twenty plus years ago.

If you read this far, thank you for listening about my ranting of the state of this blog but I hope you can still support it at least until the next season of Precure begin and we will see how it goes until then.

Kira Kira Precure Ala Mode Ep 34 Review: Claws vs Pixies

Let's Cooking! This is my review of Kira Kira Precure episode 34 and Yukari switch bodies with her Crystal Animal!

The Good: Cat Yukari was playing everyone in order to lure Diable's shadows out so that she can take them since she knew that they are behind the conflict between the cats and the fairies. As seem from the last two episodes, Diable's influences are enough to turn humans against each other, let alone the cats and the fairies were also affected by the same magic.

Although Diable is not really strong but the amount of negative energy from the town is enough to regain his full form which we will see how it goes in the next episode.

The Bad: Cat Yukari maybe cool and calculated however Yukari took her cat form like a normal issue and didn't freak out which to be honest, any normal person will have panic at the sight of being turning into an animal. It will have nice to see Yukari panicking or at least filled with anxiety to get back to normal but no, she rather choose to be a cat for the whole duration until the battle start.

On the other hand, it was more disappointing not to see her Crystal animal fooling around in her human body. Instead, we only have one scene of her Crystal animal munching off Akira's packet of dried anchovies. It was even weird to see the rest of the girls transformed already and didn't question Yukari (Cat) on why she hasn't transform.

Yukari and Ciel's little conflict was not even that interesting and Yukari didn't bother telling Ciel that she is a cat and just play along until Ciel found it out by herself. The reason why Yukari and her Crystal animal switch bodies? It was never resolved at the end and happen so randomly.

In the end, despite Yukari turning into a cat, it did not develop her character or even got a chance for Yukari to be out of her comfort zone and freak her out but no, Yukari is as boring as the fight in this episode.

Next episode, Aoi invited Himari to her party which got Himari all freak out since she is not used to seeing a large crowd in a party. Until then, see you in the next post!
